Abu Salama b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported that Jabir told him that he had observed the prayer in danger with the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ). The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) (first) led one of the two groups in two rak'ah of prayer. and then led the second group in two rak'ah of prayer. So the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) observed four rak'ah and led in two rak'ah each of the groups.
و حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَسَّانَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَلَّامٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ جَابِرًا أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِالطَّائِفَةِ الْأُخْرَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَصَلَّى بِكُلِّ طَائِفَةٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ
  معاویہ بن سلام نے کہا : مجھے یحییٰ ( بن ا بی کثیر ) نے خبردی ، انھوں نے کہا : مجھے ابو سلمہ بن عبدالرحمان نے خبر دی کہ انھیں جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بتایا کہ انھوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز خوف پڑھی ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک گروہ کودو رکعتیں پڑھائیں ، پھر دوسرے گروہ کو دو ر کعتیں پڑھائیں ، اس طرح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چار ر کعتیں پڑھیں اور ہر گروہ کو دو دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں ۔

Abdullah is reported to have heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: When any one of you intends to come for Jumu'a prayer, he should take a bath.

Abdullah (b. 'Umar) reported from his father that while he was addressing the people on Friday (sermon), a person, one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), entered (the mosque). Umar said to him loudly: What is this hour (for attending the prayer)? He said: I was busy today and I did not return to my house when I heard the call (to Friday prayer), and I did no more but performed ablution only. Upon this Umar said: just ablution! You know that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) commanded (us) to take a bath (on Friday).

Abu Huraira reported: Umar b. Khattab was delivering a sermon to the people on Friday when 'Uthman b. 'Affan came there. 'Umar hinting to him said: What would become of those persons who come after the call to prayer? Upon this 'Uthman said: Commander of the faithful, I did no more than this that after listening to the call, I performed ablution and came (to the mosque). 'Umar said: Just ablution! Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (my peace be upon him) say this: When any one of you comes for Jumu'a, he should take a bath.
