A'isha reported: I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) hastening as much in observing supererogatory as two rak'ahs before the (Fard) of the dawn prayer.
و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ قَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ النَّوَافِلِ أَسْرَعَ مِنْهُ إِلَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ
  حفص نے ابن جریج سے باقی ماندہ اسی سند کے ساتھ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی ، کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کسی بھی نفل ( کی ادائیگی ) کے لئے اسقدر جلدی کرتے نہیں دیکھاجتنی جلدی آپ نماز فجر سے پہلے کی دو رکعتوں کے لئے کرتے تھے ۔

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to recite in first of the two (supererogatory) rak'ahs of the dawn: Say: We believed in Allah and what was revealed to us... verse 136 from Surah Baqara, and in the second of the two: I believe in Allah and I bear testimony that we are Muslims (iii. 52).

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to recite in the two (supererogatory) rak'ahs of the dawn prayer: Say: We believed in Allah and what was revealed to us and that which is found in Surah Al-i-'lmran: Come to that word (creed) which is common between you and us (iii. 64).
