Translation

Abu Huraira reported from the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) that he forbade keeping one's hand on one's waist while praying, and in the narration of Abu Bakr (the words are): The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) forbade to do so.

وحَدَّثَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْقَنْطَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ح قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «أَنَّهُ نَهَى أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الرَّجُلُ مُخْتَصِرًا» وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي بَكْرِ قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

حکم بن موسیٰ قنطری نے کہا : ہمیں عبداللہ بن مبارک نے حدیث سنائی ، نیز ابو بکر ابن ابی شیبہ نے کہا : ہمیں ابو خالد اور ابو اسامہ نے حدیث سنائی ، ان سب نے ہشام سے ، انھوں نے محمد ( بن سیرین ) سے ، انھوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے اور انھوں نے نبی ﷺ سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے س بات سے منع فرمایا کہ کوئی آدمی پہلو پر ہاتھ رکھے ہوئے نماز پڑھے ۔ امام مسلم کے استاد ابو بکر کی روایت میں ( نبی ﷺ کے بجائے ) ‘ ‘ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے منع فرمایا ’’ کے الفاظ ہیں ۔

Mu'aiqib quoted the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) mentioning the removal of pebbles from the ground where he prostrated himself. He (the Prophet) said: It you must do so, do it only once.

Mu'aiqib said: They asked the Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) about the removal of (pebbles) in prayer, whereupon he said: If you do it, do it only once.

Abdullah b. Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) saw spittle on the wall towards Qibla, and scratched it away and then turning to the people said: When any one of you prays, he must not spit in front of him, for Allah is in front of him when he is engaged in prayer.

Ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) saw sputum sticking to the Qibla wall of the mosque, the rest of the hadith is the same.
