Ibn Abbas reported: Umm al-Fadl daughter of al-Harith heard him reciting: By those sent forth to spread goodness (lxxvii.). (Upon this) she remarked: O my son, you reminded me by the recitation of this surah (the fact) that it was the last surah that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and he recited it in the evening prayer.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: إِنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ، سَمِعَتْهُ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا فَقَالَتْ: يَا بُنَيَّ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرْتَنِي بِقِرَاءَتِكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ. إِنَّهَا لَآخِرُ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْمَغْرِبِ

۔ مالک نے ابن شہاب ( زہری ) سے ، انہوں نے عبید اللہ بن عبد اللہ سے اور انہوں نے حضرت ابن عباس ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : ام فضل بنت حارث رضی اللہ عنہا نے مجھے ﴿والمرسلات عرفا﴾ پڑھتے ہوئے سنا تو کہنے لگیں : بیٹا! تم نے یہ سورت پڑھ کر مجھے یاد کرا دیا کہ بے شک یہ آخری سورت ہے جو میں نے رسول اللہﷺ کو مغرب کی نماز میں تلاوت کرتے ہوئے سنی ۔

Adi reported: I heard al-Bara' narrating it from the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) that while in a journey he said the night prayer and recited in one of the two rak'ahs: By the Fig and the Olive (Su'rah xcv.).

Al-Bara' b. 'Azib reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) reciting in the night prayer: By the Fig and the Olive, and I have never heard anyone with a sweeter voice than he.
