Narrated Tauba Al-`Anbari: Ash-'Shu`bi asked me, Did you notice how Al-Hasan used to narrate Hadiths from the Prophets? I stayed with Ibn `Umar for about two or one-and-half years and I did not hear him narrating any thing from the Prophet except his (Hadith): He (Ibn `Umar) said, Some of the companions of the Prophet including Sa`d, were going to eat meat, but one of the wives of the Prophet called them, saying, 'It is the neat of a Mastigure.' The people then stopped eating it. On that Allah's Apostle said, 'Carry on eating, for it is lawful.' Or said, 'There is no harm in eating it, but it is not from my meals.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ تَوْبَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي الشَّعْبِيُّ : أَرَأَيْتَ حَدِيثَ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَاعَدْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ؟ قَرِيبًا مِنْ سَنَتَيْنِ أَوْ سَنَةٍ وَنِصْفٍ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرَ هَذَا ، قَالَ : كَانَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِمْ سَعْدٌ ، فَذَهَبُوا يَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ لَحْمٍ ، فَنَادَتْهُمُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ لَحْمُ ضَبٍّ ، فَأَمْسَكُوا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كُلُوا أَوِ اطْعَمُوا فَإِنَّهُ حَلَالٌ ، أَوْ قَالَ : لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ شَكَّ فِيهِ وَلَكِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ طَعَامِي .

ہم سے محمد بن الولید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے محمد بن جعفر نے، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے، ان سے توبہ بن کیسان العنبری نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے شعبی نے کہا کہ تم نے دیکھا امام حسن بصری نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کتنی حدیث ( مرسلاً ) روایت کرتے ہیں۔ میں ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کی خدمت میں تقریباً اڑھائی سال رہا لیکن میں نے ان کو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس حدیث کے سوا اور کوئی حدیث بیان کرتے نہیں سنا۔ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ میں سے کئی اصحاب جن میں سعد رضی اللہ عنہ بھی تھے ( دستر خوان پر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے ) لوگوں نے گوشت کھانے کے لیے ہاتھ بڑھایا تو ازواج مطہرات میں سے ایک زوجہ مطہرہ ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے آگاہ کیا کہ یہ سانڈے کا گوشت ہے۔ سب لوگ کھانے سے رک گئے، پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ کھاؤ ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے «كلوا» فرمایا یا «اطعموا» ) اس لیے کہ حلال ہے یا فرمایا کہ اس کھانے میں کوئی حرج نہیں البتہ یہ جانور میری خوراک نہیں ہے، مجھ کو اس کے کھانے سے ایک قسم کی نفرت آتی ہے۔

Narrated Tariq bin Shihab: A Jew said to `Umar, O Chief of the Believers, if this verse: 'This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favors upon you, and have chosen for you, Islam as your religion.' (5.3) had been revealed upon us, we would have taken that day as an `Id (festival) day. `Umar said, I know definitely on what day this Verse was revealed; it was revealed on the day of `Arafat, on a Friday.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: That he heard `Umar speaking while standing on the pulpit of the Prophet in the morning (following the death of the Prophet), when the people had sworn allegiance to Abu Bakr. He said the Tashah-hud before Abu Bakr, and said, Amma Ba'du (then after) Allah has chosen for his Apostle what is with Him (Paradise) rather than what is with you (the world). This is that Book (Qur'an) with which Allah guided your Apostle, so stick to it, for then you will be guided on the right path as Allah guided His Apostle with it.

Narrated Sa`id bin Al-Musaiyab: Abu Huraira said that Allah's Apostle said, I have been sent with 'Jawami-al-Kalim ' (the shortest expression with the widest meaning) and have been made victorious with awe (cast in my enemy's hearts), and while I was sleeping, I saw that the keys of the treasures of the world were placed in my hand. Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle has gone, and you people are utilizing those treasures, or digging those treasures out. or said a similar sentence.
