Narrated Warrad: (the clerk of Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba) Muawiya wrote to Al-Mughira: Write to me a narration you have heard from Allah's Apostle. So Al-Mughira wrote to him, I heard him saying the following after each prayer: 'La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahuI-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli Shai-in qadir.' He also used to forbid idle talk, asking too many questions (in religion), wasting money, preventing what should be given, and asking others for something (except in great need), being undutiful to mothers, and burying one's little daughters (alive).

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ مُغِيرَةُ ، وَفُلَانٌ ، وَرَجُلٌ ثَالِثٌ أَيْضًا ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ وَرَّادٍ كَاتِبِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ كَتَبَ إِلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ ، أَنِ اكْتُبْ إِلَيَّ بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ الْمُغِيرَةُ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ عِنْدَ انْصِرَافِهِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْ قِيلَ وَقَالَ ، وَكَثْرَةِ السُّؤَالِ ، وَإِضَاعَةِ الْمَالِ ، وَمَنْعٍ ، وَهَاتِ ، وَعُقُوقِ الْأُمَّهَاتِ ، وَوَأْدِ الْبَنَاتِ ، وَعَنْ هُشَيْمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ وَرَّادًا ، يُحَدِّثُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

ہم سے علی بن مسلم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہشیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو ایک سے زیادہ کئی آدمیوں نے خبر دی جن میں مغیرہ بن مقسم اور فلاں نے (مجالد بن سعید، ان کی روایت کو ابن خزیمہ نے نکالا) اور ایک تیسرے صاحب داود بن ابی ہند بھی ہیں، انہیں شعبی نے، انہیں مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے کاتب وراد نے کہ معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے مغیرہ کو لکھا کہ کوئی حدیث جو آپ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی ہو وہ مجھے لکھ بھیجو۔ راوی نے بیان کیا کہ پھر مغیرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں لکھا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے، آپ نماز سے فارغ ہونے کے بعد یہ دعا پڑھتے «لا إله إلا الله،‏‏‏‏ وحده لا شريك له،‏‏‏‏ له الملك،‏‏‏‏ وله الحمد،‏‏‏‏ وهو على كل شىء قدير» کہ ”اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں جو تنہا ہے اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، بادشاہت اسی کی ہے اور تمام تعریفیں اسی کے لیے ہیں اور وہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔“ یہ تین مرتبہ پڑھتے۔ بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بےفائدہ بات چیت کرنے، زیادہ سوال کرنے، مال ضائع کرنے، اپنی چیز بچا کر رکھنے اور دوسروں کی مانگتے رہنے، ماؤں کی نافرمانی کرنے اور لڑکیوں کو زندہ درگور کرنے سے منع فرماتے تھے۔ اور ہشیم سے روایت ہے، انہیں عبدالملک ابن عمیر نے خبر دی، کہا کہ میں نے وراد سے سنا، وہ یہ حدیث مغیرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے بیان کرتے تھے اور وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے۔

Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: Allah's Apostle said, Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two jaw-bones and what is between his two legs (i.e. his tongue and his private parts), I guarantee Paradise for him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (or insult) his neighbor; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should entertain his guest generously.

Narrated Abu Shuraih Al-Khuza`i: My ears heard and my heart grasped (the statement which) the Prophet said, The period for keeping one's guest is three days (and don't forget) his reward. It was asked, What is his reward? He said, In the first night and the day he should be given a high class quality of meals; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should entertain his guest generously; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good (sense) or keep quiet.

Narrated Abu Huraira: That he heard Allah's Apostle saying, A slave of Allah may utter a word without thinking whether it is right or wrong, he may slip down in the Fire as far away a distance equal to that between the east.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet; said, A slave (of Allah) may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him to degrees (of reward): a slave (of Allah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said Allah will give shade to seven (types of people) under His Shade (on the Day of Resurrection). (one of them will be) a person who remembers Allah and his eyes are then flooded with tears.
