Narrated `Aisha: Mother of the Believers: We, the wives of the Prophet were all sitting with the Prophet and none of us had left when Fatima came walking, and by Allah, her gait was very similar to that of Allah's Apostle .' When he saw her, he welcomed her, saying, Welcome, O my daughter! Then he made her sit on his right or his left, confided something to her, whereupon she wept bitterly. When he noticed her sorrow, he confided something else to her for the second time, and she started laughing. Only I from among the Prophet's wives said to her, (O Fatima), Allah's Apostle selected you from among us for the secret talk and still you weep? When Allah's Apostle got up (and went away), I asked her, What did he confide to you? She said, I wouldn't disclose the secrets of Allah's Apostle But when he died I asked her, I beseech you earnestly by what right I have on you, to tell me (that secret talk which the Prophet had with you) She said, As you ask me now, yes, (I will tell you). She informed me, saying, When he talked to me secretly the first time, he said that Gabriel used to review the Qur'an with him once every year. He added, 'But this year he reviewed it with me twice, and therefore I think that my time of death has approached. So, be afraid of Allah, and be patient, for I am the best predecessor for you (in the Hereafter).' Fatima added, So I wept as you (`Aisha) witnessed. And when the Prophet saw me in this sorrowful state, he confided the second secret to me saying, 'O Fatima! Will you not be pleased that you will be chief of all the believing women (or chief of the women of this nation i.e. my followers? )

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، عَنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا فِرَاسٌ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِيِنَ ، قَالَتْ : إِنَّا كُنَّا أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَهُ جَمِيعًا لَمْ تُغَادَرْ مِنَّا وَاحِدَةٌ ، فَأَقْبَلَتْ فَاطِمَةُ عَلَيْهَا السَّلَام تَمْشِي لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا تَخْفَى مِشْيَتُهَا مِنْ مِشْيَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا رَآهَا رَحَّبَ ، قَالَ : مَرْحَبًا بِابْنَتِي ، ثُمَّ أَجْلَسَهَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ أَوْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ ، ثُمَّ سَارَّهَا فَبَكَتْ بُكَاءً شَدِيدًا ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى حُزْنَهَا سَارَّهَا الثَّانِيَةَ ، فَإِذَا هِيَ تَضْحَكُ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهَا : أَنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ نِسَائِهِ خَصَّكِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالسِّرِّ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا ، ثُمَّ أَنْتِ تَبْكِينَ ، فَلَمَّا قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَأَلْتُهَا عَمَّا سَارَّكِ ، قَالَتْ : مَا كُنْتُ لِأُفْشِيَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِرَّهُ ، فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ قُلْتُ لَهَا : عَزَمْتُ عَلَيْكِ بِمَا لِي عَلَيْكِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ ، لَمَّا أَخْبَرْتِنِي . قَالَتْ : أَمَّا الْآنَ فَنَعَمْ ، فَأَخْبَرَتْنِي ، قَالَتْ : أَمَّا حِينَ سَارَّنِي فِي الْأَمْرِ الْأَوَّلِ ، فَإِنَّهُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ كَانَ يُعَارِضُهُ بِالْقُرْآنِ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً ، وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ عَارَضَنِي بِهِ الْعَامَ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، وَلَا أَرَى الْأَجَلَ إِلَّا قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ ، فَاتَّقِي اللَّهَ وَاصْبِرِي ، فَإِنِّي نِعْمَ السَّلَفُ أَنَا لَكِ ، قَالَتْ : فَبَكَيْتُ بُكَائِي الَّذِي رَأَيْتِ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى جَزَعِي سَارَّنِي الثَّانِيَةَ ، قَالَ : يَا فَاطِمَةُ ، أَلَا تَرْضَيْنَ أَنْ تَكُونِي سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، أَوْ سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ .

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابوعوانہ وضاح نے، کہا ہم سے فراس بن یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عامر شعبی نے، ان سے مسروق نے کہ مجھ سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ یہ تمام ازواج مطہرات ( نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مرض وفات میں ) نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس تھیں، کوئی وہاں سے نہیں ہٹا تھا کہ فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا چلتی ہوئی آئیں۔ اللہ کی قسم! ان کی چال رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی چال سے الگ نہیں تھی ( بلکہ بہت ہی مشابہ تھی ) جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں دیکھا تو خوش آمدید کہا۔ فرمایا بیٹی! مرحبا! پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی دائیں طرف یا بائیں طرف انہیں بٹھایا۔ اس کے بعد آہستہ سے ان سے کچھ کہا اور فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا بہت زیادہ رونے لگیں۔ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کا غم دیکھا تو دوبارہ ان سے سرگوشی کی اس پر وہ ہنسنے لگیں۔ تمام ازواج میں سے میں نے ان سے کہا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہم میں صرف آپ کو سرگوشی کی خصوصیت بخشی۔ پھر آپ رونے لگیں۔ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اٹھے تو میں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ آپ کے کان میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کیا فرمایا تھا انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا راز نہیں کھول سکتی۔ پھر جب آپ کی وفات ہو گئی تو میں نے فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے کہا کہ میرا جو حق آپ پر ہے اس کا واسطہ دیتی ہوں کہ آپ مجھے وہ بات بتا دیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اب بتا سکتی ہوں چنانچہ انہوں نے مجھے بتایا کہ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے پہلی سرگوشی کی تھی تو فرمایا تھا کہ ”جبرائیل علیہ السلام ہر سال مجھ سے سال میں ایک مرتبہ دور کیا کرتے تھے لیکن اس سال مجھ سے انہوں نے دو مرتبہ دور کیا اور میرا خیال ہے کہ میری وفات کا وقت قریب ہے، اللہ سے ڈرتی رہنا اور صبر کرنا کیونکہ میں تمہارے لیے ایک اچھا آگے جانے والا ہوں“ بیان کیا کہ اس وقت میرا رونا جو آپ نے دیکھا تھا اس کی وجہ یہی تھی۔ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے میری پریشانی دیکھی تو آپ نے دوبارہ مجھ سے سرگوشی کی، فرمایا ”فاطمہ بیٹی! کیا تم اس پر خوش نہیں ہو کہ جنت میں تم مومنوں کی عورتوں کی سردار ہو گی، یا ( فرمایا کہ ) اس امت کی عورتوں کی سردار ہو گی۔“

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet confided to me a secret which I did not disclose to anybody after him. And Um Sulaim asked me (about that secret) but I did not tell her.

Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet said, When you are three persons sitting together, then no two of you should hold secret counsel excluding the third person until you are with some other people too, for that would grieve him.

Narrated `Abdullah: One day the Prophet divided and distributed something amongst the people whereupon an Ansari man said, In this division Allah's Countenance has not been sought. I said, By Allah! I will go (and inform) the Prophet. So I went to him while he was with a group of people, and I secretly informed him of that, whereupon he became so angry that his face became red, and he then said, May Allah bestow His Mercy on Moses (for) he was hurt more than that, yet he remained patient.
