Narrated Safiya bint Huyai: The wife of the Prophet that she went to Allah's Apostle while he was in I`tikaf (staying in the mosque) during the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan. She spoke to him for an hour (a while) at night and then she got up to return home. The Prophet got up to accompany her, and when they reached the gate of the mosque opposite the dwelling place of Um Salama, the wife of the Prophet, two Ansari men passed by, and greeting Allah's Apostle , they quickly went ahead. Allah's Apostle said to them, Do not be in a hurry She is Safiya, the daughter of Huyai. They said, Subhan Allah! O Allah's Apostle (how dare we suspect you). That was a great thing for both of them. The Prophet then said, Satan runs in the body of Adam's son (i.e. man) as his blood circulates in it, and I was afraid that he (Satan) might insert an evil thought in your hearts.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ . ح حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، أَنَّ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزُورُهُ وَهُوَ مُعْتَكِفٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْغَوَابِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ، فَتَحَدَّثَتْ عِنْدَهُ سَاعَةً مِنَ الْعِشَاءِ ، ثُمَّ قَامَتْ تَنْقَلِبُ ، فَقَامَ مَعَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْلِبُهَا ، حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَتْ باب الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي عِنْدَ مَسْكَنِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مَرَّ بِهِمَا رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَسَلَّمَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ نَفَذَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : عَلَى رِسْلِكُمَا ، إِنَّمَا هِيَ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَيٍّ ، قَالَا : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَكَبُرَ عَلَيْهِمَا مَا قَالَ : إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَجْرِي مِنَ ابْنِ آدَمَ مَبْلَغَ الدَّمِ ، وَإِنِّي خَشِيتُ أَنْ يَقْذِفَ فِي قُلُوبِكُمَا .

ہم سے ابوالیمان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو شعیب نے خبر دی، انہیں زہری نے (دوسری سند) اور ہم سے اسماعیل بن ابی اویس نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے میرے بھائی عبدالحمید نے بیان کیا، ان سے سلیمان نے بیان کیا، ان سے محمد بن ابی عتیق نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا، ان سے امام زین العابدین علی بن حسین نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ صفیہ بنت حی رضی اللہ عنہا نے انہیں خبر دی کہ وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس ملنے آئیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس وقت مسجد میں رمضان کے آخری عشرہ میں اعتکاف کئے ہوئے تھے۔ عشاء کے وقت تھوڑی دیر انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے باتیں کیں اور واپس لوٹنے کے لیے اٹھیں تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بھی انہیں چھوڑ آنے کے لیے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ جب وہ مسجد کے اس دروازہ کے پاس پہنچیں جہاں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کا حجرہ تھا، تو ادھر سے دو انصاری صحابی گزرے اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو سلام کیا اور آگے بڑھ گئے۔ لیکن نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا کہ تھوڑی دیر کے لیے ٹھہر جاؤ۔ یہ صفیہ بنت حی میری بیوی ہیں۔ ان دونوں صحابہ نے عرض کیا: سبحان اللہ، یا رسول اللہ۔ ان پر بڑا شاق گزرا۔ لیکن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ شیطان انسان کے اندر خون کی طرح دوڑتا رہتا ہے، اس لیے مجھے خوف ہوا کہ کہیں وہ تمہارے دل میں کوئی شبہ نہ ڈال دے۔

Narrated `Abdullah bin Mughaffal Al-Muzani: The Prophet forbade the throwing of stones (with the thumb and the index or middle finger), and said It neither hunts a game nor kills (or hurts) an enemy, but it gouges out an eye or breaks a tooth.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Two men sneezed before the Prophet. The Prophet said to one of them, May Allah bestow His Mercy on you, but he did not say that to the other. On being asked (why), the Prophet said, That one praised Allah (at the time of sneezing), while the other did not praise Allah.

Narrated Al-Bara: The Prophet ordered us to do seven (things) and forbade us from seven (other things): He ordered us to pay a visit to the sick, to follow funeral possessions, to say: May Allah be merciful to you to a sneezer, - if he says: Praise be to Allah, to accept invitation (invitation to a wedding banquet), to return greetings, to help the oppressed, and to help others to fulfill their oaths (provided it was not sinful). And he forbade us from seven (things): to wear golden rings or golden bangles, to wear silk (cloth), Dibaj, Sundus and Mayathir.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning, so if someone sneezes and then praises Allah, then it is obligatory on every Muslim who heard him, to say: May Allah be merciful to you (Yar-hamuka-l-lah). But as regards yawning, it is from Satan, so one must try one's best to stop it, if one says 'Ha' when yawning, Satan will laugh at him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, If anyone of you sneezes, he should say 'Al-Hamduli l-lah' (Praise be to Allah), and his (Muslim) brother or companion should say to him, 'Yar-hamuka-l-lah' (May Allah bestow his Mercy on you). When the latter says 'Yar-hamuka-llah , the former should say, 'Yahdikumul-lah wa Yuslih balakum' (May Allah give you guidance and improve your condition).

Narrated Anas: Two men sneezed before the Prophet and he said Tashmit to one of them, while he did not say Tashmit to the other. So that man said, O Allah's Apostle! You said Tashmit to that fellow but you did not say Tashmit to me. The Prophet said, That man praised Allah, but you did not praise Allah.
