Narrated Abu Bakra: Allah's Apostle said thrice, Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins? We said, Yes, O Allah's Apostle He said, To join partners in worship with Allah: to be undutiful to one's parents. The Prophet sat up after he had been reclining and added, And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness. The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop.

حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ ؟ قُلْنَا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ : الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا فَجَلَسَ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ ، أَلَا وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى قُلْتُ : لَا يَسْكُتُ .

مجھ سے اسحاق بن شاہین واسطی نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے خالد واسطی نے بیان کیا، ان سے جریری نے، ان سے عبدالرحمٰن بن ابی بکرہ نے اور ان سے ان کے والد رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا میں تمہیں سب سے بڑا گناہ نہ بتاؤں؟ ہم نے عرض کیا ضرور بتائیے یا رسول اللہ! آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ کے ساتھ شرک کرنا اور والدین کی نافرمانی کرنا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس وقت ٹیک لگائے ہوئے تھے اب آپ سیدھے بیٹھ گئے اور فرمایا آگاہ ہو جاؤ جھوٹی بات بھی اور جھوٹی گواہی بھی ( سب سے بڑے گناہ ہیں ) آگاہ ہو جاؤ جھوٹی بات بھی اور جھوٹی گواہی بھی۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اسے مسلسل دہراتے رہے اور میں نے سوچا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خاموش نہیں ہوں گے۔

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle mentioned the greatest sins or he was asked about the greatest sins. He said, To join partners in worship with Allah; to kill a soul which Allah has forbidden to kill; and to be undutiful or unkind to one's parents. The Prophet added, Shall I inform you of the biggest of the great sins? That is the forged statement or the false witness. Shu`ba (the sub-narrator) states that most probably the Prophet said, the false witness.

Narrated Asma' bint Abu Bakr: My mother came to me, hoping (for my favor) during the lifetime of the Prophet. I asked the Prophet, May I treat her kindly? He replied, Yes. Ibn 'Uyaina said, Then Allah revealed: 'Allah forbids you not with regards to those who fought not against you because of religion, and drove you not out from your homes, that you should show them kindness and deal justly with them.'.......(60.8)

Narrated Asma': My mother who was a Mushrikah (pagan, etc.), came with her father during the period of peace pact between the Muslims and the Quraish infidels. I went to seek the advice of the Prophet (saws) saying, My mother has arrived and she is hoping (for my favor). The Prophet (saws) said, Yes, be good to your mother.

Narrated Abu Sufyan: That Heraclius sent for him and said, What did he, i.e. the Prophet order you? I replied, He orders us to offer prayers; to give alms; to be chaste; and to keep good relations with our relatives.

Narrated Ibn `Umar: My father, seeing a silken cloak being sold, said, O Allah's Apostle! Buy this and wear it on Fridays and when the foreign delegates pay a visit to you. He said, This is worn only by that person who will have no share in the Hereafter. Later a few silken cloaks were given to the Prophet as a gift, and he sent one of those cloaks to `Umar. `Umar said (to the Prophet), How can I wear it while you have said about it what you said? The Prophet said, I did not give it to you to wear but to sell or to give to someone else to wear. So `Umar sent it to his (pagan) brother who was from the inhabitants of Mecca before he (`Umar's brother) embraced Islam.

Narrated Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari:It was said O Allah's Messenger! Inform me of a deed which will make me enter Paradise. (continues through a different chain in the next hadith)
