Narrated Mu`adh bin Jabal: While I was riding behind the Prophet and between me and him and between me and him there was only the back of the saddle, he said, 0 Mu`adh! I replied, Labbaik, 0 Allah's Apostle, and Sa`daik! he said, Do you know what is Allah's right upon his slave? I said, Allah and His Apostle know best He said Allah's right upon his slaves is that they should worship Him alone and not worship anything else besides Him. Then he proceeded for a while and then said, O Mu`adh bin Jabal! I replied, Labbaik, O Allah's Apostle:, Sa`daik!' He said, Do you know what is the right of the slaves upon Allah if they do that? I replied, Allah and His Apostle know best. He said, The right of the slaves upon Allah is that He will not punish them (if they do that).

حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَا أَنَا رَدِيفُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ إِلَّا أَخِرَةُ الرَّحْلِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا مُعَاذُ بْنَ جَبَلٍ قُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ ، ثُمَّ سَارَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا مُعَاذُ قُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ ، ثُمَّ سَارَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا مُعَاذُ قُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ قَالَ : هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ ؟ قُلْتُ : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ ، قَالَ : حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ سَارَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا مُعَاذُ بْنَ جَبَلٍ قُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ ، فَقَالَ : هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوهُ ؟ قُلْتُ : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ ، قَالَ : حَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَهُمْ .

ہم سے ہدبہ بن خالد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہمام بن یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے قتادہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے معاذ بن جبل نے بیان کیا کہ میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی سواری پر آپ کے پیچھے بیٹھا ہوا تھا اور میرے اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے درمیان کجاوہ کی پچھلی لکڑی کے سوا اور کوئی چیز حائل نہیں تھی اسی حالت میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یامعاذ! میں بولا یا رسول اللہ! میں حاضر ہوں، آپ کی اطاعت اور فرمابرداری کے لیے تیار ہوں۔ پھر آپ نے تھوڑی دیر تک چلتے رہے۔ اس کے بعد فرمایا: یا معاذ! میں بولا، یا رسول اللہ! حاضر ہوں آپ کی اطاعت کے لیے تیار ہوں۔ پھر آپ تھوڑی دیر چلتے رہے اس کے بعد فرمایا: یا معاذ! میں نے عرض کیا حاضر ہوں، یا رسول اللہ! آپ کی اطاعت کے لیے تیار ہوں۔ اس کے بعد نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تمہیں معلوم ہے اللہ کے اپنے بندوں پر کیا حق ہیں؟ میں نے عرض کیا اللہ اور اس کے رسول ہی کو زیادہ علم ہے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے بندوں پر حق یہ ہیں کہ بندے خاص اس کی عبادت کریں اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ بنائیں پھر آپ تھوڑی دیر چلتے رہے۔ اس کے بعد فرمایا: معاذ! میں نے عرض کیا، حاضر ہوں یا رسول اللہ! آپ کی اطاعت کے لیے تیار ہوں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تمہیں معلوم ہے بندوں کا اللہ پر کیا حق ہے۔ جب کہ وہ یہ کام کر لیں۔ میں نے عرض کیا اللہ اور اس کے رسول کو زیادہ علم ہے۔ فرمایا کہ پھر بندوں کا اللہ پر حق ہے کہ وہ انہیں عذاب نہ کرے۔

Narrated Anas bin Malik: We were coming from Khaibar along with Allah's Apostle while l was riding behind Abu Talha and he was proceeding. While one of the wives of Allah's Apostle was riding behind Allah's Apostle, suddenly the foot of the camel Slipped and I said, The woman! and alighted (hurriedly). Allah's Apostle said, She is your mother. Sol resaddled the she-camel and Allah's Apostle mounted it. When he approached or saw Medina, he said, Ayibun, ta'ibun, 'abidun, li-Rabbina hami-dun.

Narrated Al-Walid bin 'Aizar: I heard Abi `Amr 'Ash-Shaibani saying, The owner of this house. he pointed to `Abdullah's house, said, 'I asked the Prophet 'Which deed is loved most by Allah? He replied, 'To offer prayers at their early (very first) stated times.' `Abdullah asked, What is the next (in goodness)? The Prophet said, To be good and dutiful to one's parents, `Abdullah asked, What is the next (in goodness)? The Prophet said, To participate in Jihad for Allah's Cause. `Abdullah added, The Prophet narrated to me these three things, and if I had asked more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me? The Prophet said, Your mother. The man said. Who is next? The Prophet said, Your mother. The man further said, Who is next? The Prophet said, Your mother. The man asked for the fourth time, Who is next? The Prophet said, Your father.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: A man said to the Prophet, Shall I participate in Jihad? The Prophet said, Are your parents living? The man said, Yes. the Prophet said, Do Jihad for their benefit.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: Allah's Apostle said. It is one of the greatest sins that a man should curse his parents. It was asked (by the people), O Allah's Apostle! How does a man curse his parents? The Prophet said, 'The man abuses the father of another man and the latter abuses the father of the former and abuses his mother.
