Narrated `Umar: The Prophet forbade praying after the Fajr prayer till the sun rises and after the `Asr prayer till the sun sets. Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Some people told me the same narration (as above).

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : شَهِدَ عِنْدِي رِجَالٌ مَرْضِيُّونَ وَأَرْضَاهُمْ عِنْدِي عُمَرُ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَشْرُقَ الشَّمْسُ ، وَبَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي نَاسٌ بِهَذَا .

ہم سے حفص بن عمر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے ہشام دستوائی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے قتادہ بن دعامہ سے، انہوں نے ابوالعالیہ رفیع سے، انہوں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے فرمایا کہ میرے سامنے چند معتبر حضرات نے گواہی دی، جن میں سب سے زیادہ معتبر میرے نزدیک عمر رضی اللہ عنہ تھے، کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فجر کی نماز کے بعد سورج بلند ہونے تک اور عصر کی نماز کے بعد سورج ڈوبنے تک نماز پڑھنے سے منع فرمایا۔ ہم سے مسدد بن مسرہد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے شعبہ سے، انہوں نے قتادہ سے کہ میں نے ابوالعالیہ سے سنا، وہ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے بیان کرتے تھے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ مجھ سے چند لوگوں نے یہ حدیث بیان کی۔ ( جو پہلے ذکر ہوئی ) ۔

Narrated Hisham's father: Ibn `Umar said, Allah's Apostle said, 'Do not pray at the time of sunrise and at the time of sunset.'

Ibn `Umar said, Allah's Apostle said, 'If the edge of the sun appears (above the horizon) delay the prayer till it becomes high, and if the edge of the sun disappears, delay the prayer till it sets (disappears completely).'

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle forbade two kinds of sales, two kinds of dresses, and two prayers. He forbade offering prayers after the Fajr prayer till the rising of the sun and after the `Asr prayer till its setting. He also forbade Ishtimal-Assama [??] and al-Ihtiba in one garment in such a way that one's private parts are exposed towards the sky. He also forbade the sales called Munabadha and Mulamasa. (See Hadith No. 354 and 355 Vol. 3).

Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, None of you should try to pray at sunrise or sunset.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, There is no prayer after the morning prayer till the sun rises, and there is no prayer after the `Asr prayer till the sun sets.

Narrated Muawiya: You offer a prayer which I did not see being offered by Allah's Apostle when we were in his company and he certainly had forbidden it (i.e. two rak`at after the `Asr prayer).
