Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: On the Day of the battle of Khaibar, Allah's Apostle made donkey's meat unlawful and allowed the eating of horse flesh.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ .

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا، ان سے عمرو بن دینار نے، ان سے محمد بن علی نے اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ جنگ خیبر میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے گدھے کا گوشت کھانے کی ممانعت فرما دی تھی اور گھوڑے کا گوشت کھانے کی رخصت دی تھی۔
