Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him? They said, Not a trace of dirt would be left. The Prophet added, That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، وَالدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهَرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسًا مَا تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ ، قَالُوا : لَا يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْئًا ، قَالَ : فَذَلِكَ مِثْلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ ، يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِ الْخَطَايَا .
ہم سے ابراہیم بن حمزہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے عبدالعزیز بن ابی حازم اور عبدالعزیز بن محمد دراوردی نے یزید بن عبداللہ کی روایت سے، انہوں نے محمد بن ابراہیم تیمی سے، انہوں نے ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ سے، انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا   آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے تھے کہ اگر کسی شخص کے دروازے پر نہر جاری ہو اور وہ روزانہ اس میں پانچ پانچ دفعہ نہائے تو تمہارا کیا گمان ہے۔ کیا اس کے بدن پر کچھ بھی میل باقی رہ سکتا ہے؟ صحابہ نے عرض کی کہ نہیں یا رسول اللہ! ہرگز نہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ یہی حال پانچوں وقت کی نمازوں کا ہے کہ اللہ پاک ان کے ذریعہ سے گناہوں کو مٹا دیتا ہے۔

Narrated Ghailan: Anas said, I do not find (now-a-days) things as they were (practiced) at the time of the Prophet. Somebody said The prayer (is as it was.) Anas said, Have you not done in the prayer what you have done?

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, Whenever anyone of you offers his prayer he is speaking in private to his Lord. So he should not spit to his right but under his left foot. Qatada said, He should not spit in front of him but to his left or under his feet. And Shu`ba said, He should not spit in front of him, nor to his right but to his left or under his foot. Anas said: The Prophet said, He should neither spit in the direction of his Qibla nor to his right but to his left or under his foot.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, Do the prostration properly and do not put your forearms flat with elbows touching the ground like a dog. And if you want to spit, do not spit in front, nor to the right for the person in prayer is speaking in private to his Lord.
