Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Prophet said, When Allah decrees some order in the heaven, the angels flutter their wings indicating complete surrender to His saying which sounds like chains being dragged on rock. And when the state of fear disappears, they ask each other, What has your Lord ordered? They say that He has said that which is true and just, and He is the Most High, the Most Great. (34.23). Then the stealthy listeners (devils) hear this order, and these stealthy listeners are like this, one over the other. (Sufyan, a sub-narrator demonstrated that by holding his hand upright and separating the fingers.) A stealthy listener hears a word which he will convey to that which is below him and the second will convey it to that which is below him till the last of them will convey it to the wizard or foreteller. Sometimes a flame (fire) may strike the devil before he can convey it, and sometimes he may convey it before the flame (fire) strikes him, whereupon the wizard adds to that word a hundred lies. The people will then say, 'Didn't he (i.e. magician) tell such-and-such a thing on such-and-such date?' So that magician is said to have told the truth because of the Statement which has been heard from the heavens.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ الْأَمْرَ فِي السَّمَاءِ ضَرَبَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا خُضْعَانًا لِقَوْلِهِ ، كَأَنَّهُ سِلْسِلَةٌ عَلَى صَفْوَانٍ ، فَإِذَا فُزِّعَ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ ، قَالُوا : مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : رَبُّكُمْ ، قَالُوا : لِلَّذِي قَالَ الْحَقَّ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ ، فَيَسْمَعُهَا مُسْتَرِقُ السَّمْعِ ، وَمُسْتَرِقُ السَّمْعِ هَكَذَا بَعْضُهُ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ ، وَوَصَفَ سُفْيَانُ بِكَفِّهِ ، فَحَرَفَهَا وَبَدَّدَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ ، فَيَسْمَعُ الْكَلِمَةَ ، فَيُلْقِيهَا إِلَى مَنْ تَحْتَهُ ، ثُمَّ يُلْقِيهَا الْآخَرُ إِلَى مَنْ تَحْتَهُ ، حَتَّى يُلْقِيَهَا عَلَى لِسَانِ السَّاحِرِ أَوِ الْكَاهِنِ ، فَرُبَّمَا أَدْرَكَ الشِّهَابُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُلْقِيَهَا ، وَرُبَّمَا أَلْقَاهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْرِكَهُ ، فَيَكْذِبُ مَعَهَا مِائَةَ كَذْبَةٍ ، فَيُقَالُ : أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ لَنَا يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَيُصَدَّقُ بِتِلْكَ الْكَلِمَةِ الَّتِي سَمِعَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن زبیر حمیدی نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے، کہا ہم سے عمرو بن دینار نے، کہا کہ میں نے عکرمہ سے سنا، وہ بیان کرتے تھے کہ میں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جب اللہ تعالیٰ آسمان پر کسی بات کا فیصلہ کرتا ہے تو فرشتے اللہ تعالیٰ کے فیصلہ کو سن کر جھکتے ہوئے عاجزی کرتے ہوئے اپنے بازو پھڑپھڑاتے ہیں۔ اللہ کا فرمان انہیں اس طرح سنائی دیتا ہے جیسے صاف چکنے پتھر پر زنجیر چلانے سے آواز پیدا ہوتی ہے۔ پھر جب ان کے دلوں سے گھبراہٹ دور ہو جاتی ہے تو وہ آپس میں پوچھتے ہیں کہ تمہارے رب نے کیا فرمایا؟ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حق بات کا حکم فرمایا اور وہ بہت اونچا، سب سے بڑا ہے پھر ان کی یہی گفتگو چوری چھپے سننے والے شیطان سن بھاگتے ہیں، شیطان آسمان کے نیچے یوں نیچے اوپر ہوتے ہیں، سفیان نے اس موقع پر ہتھیلی کو موڑ کر انگلیاں الگ الگ کر کے شیاطین کے جمع ہونے کی کیفیت بتائی کہ اس طرح شیطان ایک کے اوپر ایک رہتے ہیں۔ پھر وہ شیاطین کوئی ایک کلمہ سن لیتے ہیں اور اپنے نیچے والے کو بتاتے ہیں۔ اس طرح وہ کلمہ ساحر یا کاہن تک پہنچتا ہے۔ کبھی تو ایسا ہوتا ہے کہ اس سے پہلے کہ وہ یہ کلمہ اپنے سے نیچے والے کو بتائیں آگ کا گولا انہیں آ ڈبوچتا ہے اور کبھی ایسا ہوتا ہے کہ جب وہ بتا لیتے ہیں تو آگ کا انگارا ان پر پڑتا ہے، اس کے بعد کاہن اس میں سو جھوٹ ملا کر لوگوں سے بیان کرتا ہے ( ایک بات جب اس کاہن کی صحیح ہو جاتی ہے تو ان کے ماننے والوں کی طرف سے ) کہا جاتا ہے کہ کیا اسی طرح ہم سے فلاں دن کاہن نہیں کہا تھا، اسی ایک کلمہ کی وجہ سے جو آسمان پر شیاطین نے سنا تھا کاہنوں اور ساحروں کی بات کو لوگ سچا جاننے لگتے ہیں۔

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: One day the Prophet ascended Safa mountain and said, Oh Sabah! All the Quraish gathered round him and said, What is the matter? He said, Look, if I told you that an enemy is going to attack you in the morning or in the evening, would you not believe me? They said, Yes, we will believe you. He said, I am a warner to you in face of a terrible punishment. On that Abu Lahab said, May you perish ! Is it for this thing that you have gathered us? So Allah revealed: 'Perish the hands of Abu Lahab!...' (111.1)

Narrated Abu Dharr: Once I was with the Prophet in the mosque at the time of sunset. The Prophet said, O Abu Dharr! Do you know where the sun sets? I replied, Allah and His Apostle know best. He said, It goes and prostrates underneath (Allah's) Throne; and that is Allah's Statement:-- 'And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (decreed). And that is the decree of All-Mighty, the All-Knowing....' (36.38)

Narrated Abu Dharr: I asked the Prophet about the Statement of Allah:-- 'And the sun runs on fixed course for a term (decreed), ' (36.38) He said, Its course is underneath Allah's Throne. (Prostration of Sun trees, stars. mentioned in Qur'an and Hadith does not mean like our prostration but it means that these objects are obedient to their Creator (Allah) and they obey for what they have been created for).

Narrated Al-Awwam: I asked Muhajid regarding the prostration in Surat Sa`d. He said, Ibn `Abbas was asked the same question and he said, 'Those are they (the prophets) whom Allah had Guided. So follow their guidance. (6.90) Ibn `Abbas used to perform a prostration (on reading this Sura).
