Narrated `Aisha: (the mother of faithful believers) Allah's Apostle saw some nasal secretions, expectoration or sputum on the wall of the mosque in the direction of the Qibla and scraped it off.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى فِي جِدَارِ الْقِبْلَةِ مُخَاطًا أَوْ بُصَاقًا أَوْ نُخَامَةً فَحَكَّهُ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں امام مالک نے ہشام بن عروہ کے واسطہ سے، انہوں نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے عائشہ ام المؤمنین رضی اللہ عنہا سے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے قبلہ کی دیوار پر رینٹ یا تھوک یا بلغم دیکھا تو اسے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کھرچ ڈالا۔

Narrated Abu Huraira and Abu Sa`id: Allah's Apostle saw some expectoration on the wall of the mosque; he took gravel and scraped it off and said, If anyone of you wanted to spit he should neither spit in front of him nor on his right but he could spit either on his left or under his left foot.
