Narrated Abu Masud Al-Badri: Allah's Apostle said, It is sufficient for one to recite the last two Verses of Surat-al-Baqara at night.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْبَدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : الْآيَتَانِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ مَنْ قَرَأَهُمَا فِي لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ , قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَحَدَّثَنِيهِ .

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، ہم سے ابوعوانہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے اعمش نے، ان سے ابراہیم نخعی نے، ان سے عبدالرحمٰن بن یزید نخعی نے، ان سے علقمہ بن یسعی نے اور ان سے ابومسعود بدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ سورۃ البقرہ کی دو آیتیں ( «امن الرسول» سے آخر تک ) ایسی ہیں کہ جو شخص رات میں انہیں پڑھ لے وہ اس کے لیے کافی ہو جاتی ہیں۔ عبدالرحمٰن نے بیان کیا کہ پھر میں نے خود ابومسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملاقات کی، وہ اس وقت بیت اللہ کا طواف کر رہے تھے۔ میں نے ان سے اس حدیث کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے یہ حدیث مجھ سے بیان کی۔

Narrated Mahmud bin Ar-Rabi: That `Itban bin Malik who was one of the companions of the Prophet and one of the warriors of Badr, came to Allah's Apostle.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Rabi`a: who was one of the leaders of Bani `Adi and his father participated in the battle of Badr in the company of the Prophet. `Umar appointed Qudama bin Maz'un as ruler of Bahrain, Qudama was one of the warriors of the battle of Badr and was the maternal uncle of `Abdullah bin `Umar and Hafsa.

Narrated Az-Zuhri: Salim bin `Abdullah told me that Rafi` bin Khadij told `Abdullah bin `Umar that his two paternal uncles who had fought in the battle of Badr informed him that Allah's Apostle forbade the renting of fields. I said to Salim, Do you rent your land? He said, Yes, for Rafi` is mistaken.
