Narrated Ibn Abi Mulaika: Somebody said to Ibn `Abbas, Can you speak to the chief of the believers Muwaiya, as he does not pray except one rak`a as witr? Ibn `Abbas replied, He is a Faqih (i.e. a learned man who can give religious verdicts) .

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، قِيلَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : هَلْ لَكَ فِي أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَإِنَّهُ مَا أَوْتَرَ إِلَّا بِوَاحِدَةٍ ، قَالَ : إِنَّهُ فَقِيهٌ .

ہم سے ابن ابی مریم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے نافع بن عمر نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے ابن ابی ملیکہ نے بیان کیا کہ عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہا گیا کہ امیرالمؤمنین معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے متعلق آپ کیا فرماتے ہیں، انہوں نے وتر کی نماز صرف ایک رکعت پڑھی ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ خود فقیہ ہیں۔

Narrated Humran bin `Abbas: Muawiya said (to the people), You offer a prayer which we, who were the companions of the Prophet never saw the Prophet offering, and he forbade its offering, i.e. the two rak`at after the compulsory `Asr prayer.

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: Allah's Apostle said, Many amongst men attained perfection but amongst women none attained the perfection except Mary, the daughter of `Imran and Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh. And the superiority of `Aisha to other women is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. an Arabic dish) to other meals.
