Narrated `Aisha: That she asked the Prophet , 'Have you encountered a day harder than the day of the battle) of Uhud? The Prophet replied, Your tribes have troubled me a lot, and the worse trouble was the trouble on the day of 'Aqaba when I presented myself to Ibn `Abd-Yalail bin `Abd-Kulal and he did not respond to my demand. So I departed, overwhelmed with excessive sorrow, and proceeded on, and could not relax till I found myself at Qarnath-Tha-alib where I lifted my head towards the sky to see a cloud shading me unexpectedly. I looked up and saw Gabriel in it. He called me saying, 'Allah has heard your people's saying to you, and what they have replied back to you, Allah has sent the Angel of the Mountains to you so that you may order him to do whatever you wish to these people.' The Angel of the Mountains called and greeted me, and then said, O Muhammad! Order what you wish. If you like, I will let Al-Akh-Shabain (i.e. two mountains) fall on them. The Prophet said, No but I hope that Allah will let them beget children who will worship Allah Alone, and will worship None besides Him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، هَلْ أَتَى عَلَيْكَ يَوْمٌ كَانَ أَشَدَّ مِنْ يَوْمِ أُحُدٍ ؟ ، قَالَ : لَقَدْ لَقِيتُ مِنْ قَوْمِكِ مَا لَقِيتُ وَكَانَ أَشَدَّ مَا لَقِيتُ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ إِذْ عَرَضْتُ نَفْسِي عَلَى ابْنِ عَبْدِ يَالِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ كُلَالٍ فَلَمْ يُجِبْنِي إِلَى مَا أَرَدْتُ فَانْطَلَقْتُ ، وَأَنَا مَهْمُومٌ عَلَى وَجْهِي فَلَمْ أَسْتَفِقْ إِلَّا وَأَنَا بِقَرْنِ الثَّعَالِبِ فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي فَإِذَا أَنَا بِسَحَابَةٍ قَدْ أَظَلَّتْنِي فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَإِذَا فِيهَا جِبْرِيلُ فَنَادَانِي ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ سَمِعَ قَوْلَ قَوْمِكَ لَكَ وَمَا رَدُّوا عَلَيْكَ وَقَدْ بَعَثَ إِلَيْكَ مَلَكَ الْجِبَالِ لِتَأْمُرَهُ بِمَا شِئْتَ فِيهِمْ فَنَادَانِي مَلَكُ الْجِبَالِ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيَّ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، فَقَالَ : ذَلِكَ فِيمَا شِئْتَ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ أُطْبِقَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَخْشَبَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بَلْ أَرْجُو أَنْ يُخْرِجَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَصْلَابِهِمْ مَنْ يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ وَحْدَهُ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو عبداللہ بن وہب نے خبر دی، کہا کہ مجھے یونس نے خبر دی، ان سے ابن شہاب نے کہا، ان سے عروہ نے کہا اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا، کیا آپ پر کوئی دن احد کے دن سے بھی زیادہ سخت گزرا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس پر فرمایا کہ تمہاری قوم ( قریش ) کی طرف سے میں نے کتنی مصیبتیں اٹھائی ہیں لیکن اس سارے دور میں عقبہ کا دن مجھ پر سب سے زیادہ سخت تھا یہ وہ موقع تھا جب میں نے ( طائف کے سردار ) کنانہ بن عبد یا لیل بن عبد کلال کے ہاں اپنے آپ کو پیش کیا تھا۔ لیکن اس نے ( اسلام کو قبول نہیں کیا اور ) میری دعوت کو رد کر دیا۔ میں وہاں سے انتہائی رنجیدہ ہو کر واپس ہوا۔ پھر جب میں قرن الثعالب پہنچا، تب مجھ کو کچھ ہوش آیا، میں نے اپنا سر اٹھایا تو کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ بدلی کا ایک ٹکڑا میرے اوپر سایہ کئے ہوئے ہے اور میں نے دیکھا کہ جبرائیل علیہ السلام اس میں موجود ہیں، انہوں نے مجھے آواز دی اور کہا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ آپ کے بارے میں آپ کی قوم کی باتیں سن چکا اور جو انہوں نے رد کیا ہے وہ بھی سن چکا۔ آپ کے پاس اللہ تعالیٰ نے پہاڑوں کا فرشتہ بھیجا ہے، آپ ان کے بارے میں جو چاہیں اس کا اسے حکم دے دیں۔ اس کے بعد مجھے پہاڑوں کے فرشتے نے آواز دی، انہوں نے مجھے سلام کیا اور کہا کہ اے محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ! پھر انہوں نے بھی وہی بات کہی، آپ جو چاہیں ( اس کا مجھے حکم فرمائیں ) اگر آپ چاہیں تو میں دونوں طرف کے پہاڑ ان پر لا کر ملا دوں ( جن سے وہ چکنا چور ہو جائیں ) نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، مجھے تو اس کی امید ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان کی نسل سے ایسی اولاد پیدا کرے گا جو اکیلے اللہ کی عبادت کرے گی، اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہرائے گی۔

Narrated Abu 'Is-haq-Ash-Shaibani: I asked Zir bin Hubaish regarding the Statement of Allah: And was at a distance Of but two bowlengths Or (even) nearer; So did (Allah) convey The Inspiration to His slave (Gabriel) and then he (Gabriel) Conveyed (that to Muhammad). (53.9-10) On that, Zir said, Ibn Mas`ud informed us that the Prophet had seen Gabriel having 600 wings.

(اللہ تعالیٰ کے ارشاد) «لقد رأى من آيات ربه الكبرى‏» کے متعلق بتلایا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک سبز رنگ کا بچھونا دیکھا تھا جو آسمان میں سارے کناروں کو گھیرے ہوئے تھا۔

Narrated Aisha: Whoever claimed that (the Prophet) Muhammad saw his Lord, is committing a great fault, for he only saw Gabriel in his genuine shape in which he was created covering the whole horizon.

Narrated Masruq: I asked Aisha What about His Statement:-- Then he (Gabriel) approached And came closer, And was at a distance Of but two bow-lengths Or (even) nearer? (53.8-9) She replied, It was Gabriel who used to come to the Prophet in the figure of a man, but on that occasion, he came in his actual and real figure and (he was so huge) that he covered the whole horizon.

Narrated Samura: The Prophet said, Last night I saw (in a dream) two men coming to me. One of them said, The person who kindles the fire is Malik, the gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire, and I am Gabriel, and this is Michael.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, If a husband calls his wife to his bed (i.e. to have sexual relation) and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning.
