Narrated Al-Bara bin Azib: Allah's Apostle sent a group of the Ansar to Abu Rafi`. `Abdullah bin Atik entered his house at night and killed him while he was sleeping.
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَهْطًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى أَبِي رَافِعٍ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَتِيكٍ بَيْتَهُ لَيْلًا ، فَقَتَلَهُ وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ .
ہم سے عبداللہ بن محمد نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے یحییٰ بن آدم نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے یحییٰ بن ابی زائدہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے اس کے والد نے ‘ ان سے ابواسحاق نے اور ان سے براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انصار کے چند آدمیوں کو ابورافع کے پاس ( اسے قتل کرنے کے لیے ) بھیجا تھا۔ چنانچہ رات میں عبداللہ بن عتیک رضی اللہ عنہ اس کے قلعہ میں داخل ہوئے اور اسے سوتے ہوئے قتل کیا۔

And then he got up amongst the people saying, O people! Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for safety, but when you face the enemy, be patient, and remember that Paradise is under the shades of swords. Then he said, O Allah, the Revealer of the Holy Book, and the Mover of the clouds and the Defeater of the clans, defeat them, and grant us victory over them.
