Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle used to visit Umm Haram bint Milhan, who would offer him meals. Umm Haram was the wife of Ubada bin As-Samit. Allah's Apostle, once visited her and she provided him with food and started looking for lice in his head. Then Allah's Apostle slept, and afterwards woke up smiling. Umm Haram asked, What causes you to smile, O Allah's Apostle? He said. Some of my followers who (in a dream) were presented before me as fighters in Allah's cause (on board a ship) amidst this sea caused me to smile; they were as kings on the thrones (or like kings on the thrones). (Ishaq, a sub-narrator is not sure as to which expression the Prophet used.) Umm Haram said, O Allah's Apostle! Invoke Allah that he makes me one of them. Allah's Apostle invoked Allah for her and slept again and woke up smiling. Once again Umm Haram asked, What makes you smile, O Allah's Apostle? He replied, Some of my followers were presented to me as fighters in Allah's Cause, repeating the same dream. Umm Haram said, O Allah's Apostle! Invoke Allah that He makes me one of them. He said, You are amongst the first ones. It happened that she sailed on the sea during the Caliphate of Mu'awiya bin Abi Sufyan, and after she disembarked, she fell down from her riding animal and died.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ فَتُطْعِمُهُ ، وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ حَرَامٍ تَحْتَ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَطْعَمَتْهُ ، وَجَعَلَتْ تَفْلِي رَأْسَهُ فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ ، وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ ، قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ وَمَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عُرِضُوا عَلَيَّ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يَرْكَبُونَ ثَبَجَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ مُلُوكًا عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ ، أَوْ مِثْلَ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ شَكَّ إِسْحَاقُ ، قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ اللَّهَ ، أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهمْ فَدَعَا لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ ، وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ ، فَقُلْتُ : وَمَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عُرِضُوا عَلَيَّ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَمَا ، قَالَ : فِي الْأَوَّلِ قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : أَنْتِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ فَرَكِبَتِ الْبَحْرَ فِي زَمَانِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، فَصُرِعَتْ عَنْ دَابَّتِهَا حِينَ خَرَجَتْ مِنَ الْبَحْرِ فَهَلَكَتْ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا امام مالک سے ‘ انہوں نے اسحاق بن عبداللہ بن ابی طلحہ سے انہوں نے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ‘ آپ بیان کرتے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ام حرام رضی اللہ عنہا کے یہاں تشریف لے جایا کرتے تھے ( یہ انس رضی اللہ عنہ کی خالہ تھیں جو عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ کے نکاح میں تھیں ) ایک دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لے گئے تو انہوں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں کھانا پیش کیا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سر سے جوئیں نکالنے لگیں ‘ اس عرصے میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سو گئے ‘ جب بیدار ہوئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مسکرا رہے تھے۔ ام حرام رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا میں نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! کس بات پر آپ ہنس رہے ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ میری امت کے کچھ لوگ میرے سامنے اس طرح پیش کئے گئے کہ وہ اللہ کے راستے میں غزوہ کرنے کے لیے دریا کے بیچ میں سوار اس طرح جا رہے ہیں جس طرح بادشاہ تخت پر ہوتے ہیں یا جیسے بادشاہ تخت رواں پر سوار ہوتے ہیں یہ شک اسحاق راوی کو تھا۔ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! آپ دعا فرمایئے کہ اللہ مجھے بھی انہیں میں سے کر دے ‘ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے لیے دعا فرمائی پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنا سر رکھ کر سو گئے ‘ اس مرتبہ بھی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیدار ہوئے تو مسکرا رہے تھے۔ میں نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! کس بات پر آپ ہنس رہے ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا میری امت کے کچھ لوگ میرے سامنے اس طرح پیش کئے گئے کہ وہ اللہ کی راہ میں غزوہ کے لیے جا رہے ہیں پہلے کی طرح ‘ اس مرتبہ بھی فرمایا انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! اللہ سے میرے لیے دعا کیجئے کہ مجھے بھی انہیں میں سے کر دے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس پر فرمایا کہ تو سب سے پہلی فوج میں شامل ہو گی ( جو بحری راستے سے جہاد کرے گی ) چنانچہ معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے زمانہ میں ام حرام رضی اللہ عنہا نے بحری سفر کیا پھر جب سمندر سے باہر آئیں تو ان کی سواری نے انہیں نیچے گرا دیا اور اسی حادثہ میں ان کی وفات ہو گئی۔

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Whoever believes in Allah and His Apostle, offer prayer perfectly and fasts the month of Ramadan, will rightfully be granted Paradise by Allah, no matter whether he fights in Allah's Cause or remains in the land where he is born. The people said, O Allah's Apostle ! Shall we acquaint the people with the is good news? He said, Paradise has one-hundred grades which Allah has reserved for the Mujahidin who fight in His Cause, and the distance between each of two grades is like the distance between the Heaven and the Earth. So, when you ask Allah (for something), ask for Al-firdaus which is the best and highest part of Paradise. (i.e. The sub-narrator added, I think the Prophet also said, 'Above it (i.e. Al-Firdaus) is the Throne of Beneficent (i.e. Allah), and from it originate the rivers of Paradise. )

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, A place in Paradise as small as a bow is better than all that on which the sun rises and sets (i.e. all the world). He also said, A single endeavor in Allah's Cause in the afternoon or in the forenoon is better than all that on which the sun rises and sets.
