Narrated Abu Al-Minhal: I asked Al-Bara' bin `Azib and Zaid bin Arqam about money exchanges. Each of them said, This is better than I, and both of them said, Allah's Apostle forbade the selling of silver for gold on credit.

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ ، وَزَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ ؟ فَكُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا يَقُولُ : هَذَا خَيْرٌ مِنِّي ، فَكِلَاهُمَا يَقُولُ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الذَّهَبِ بِالْوَرِقِ دَيْنًا .

ہم سے حفص بن عمر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھے حبیب بن ابی ثابت نے خبر دی، کہا کہ میں نے ابوالمنہال سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے براء بن عازب اور زید بن ارقم رضی اللہ عنہما سے بیع صرف کے متعلق پوچھا تو ان دونوں حضرات نے ایک دوسرے کے متعلق فرمایا کہ یہ مجھ سے بہتر ہیں۔ آخر دونوں حضرات نے بتلایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سونے کو چاندی کے بدلے میں ادھار کی صورت میں بیچنے سے منع فرمایا ہے۔

Narrated `Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakra: that his father said, The Prophet forbade the selling of gold for gold and silver for silver except if they are equivalent in weight, and allowed us to sell gold for silver and vice versa as we wished.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, Do not sell fruits of dates until they become free from all the dangers of being spoilt or blighted; and do not sell fresh dates for dry dates.

Narrated Salim and `Abdullah from Zaid bin Habit' Later on Allah's Apostle permitted the selling of ripe fruits on trees for fresh dates or dried dates in Bai'-al-'Araya, and did not allow it for any other kind of sale.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مزابنہ سے منع فرمایا، مزابنہ درخت پر لگی ہوئی کھجور کو ٹوٹی ہوئی کھجور کے بدلے ناپ کر اور درخت کے انگور کو خشک انگور کے بدلے میں ناپ کر بیچنے کو کہتے ہیں۔

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Allah's Apostle forbade Muzabana and Muhaqala; and Muzabana means the selling of ripe dates for dates still on the trees.
