Narrated Aisha: (mother of the faithful believers) I bought a cushion with pictures on it. When Allah's Apostle saw it, he kept standing at the door and did not enter the house. I noticed the sign of disgust on his face, so I said, O Allah's Apostle! I repent to Allah and H is Apostle . (Please let me know) what sin I have done. Allah's Apostle said, What about this cushion? I replied, I bought it for you to sit and recline on. Allah's Apostle said, The painters (i.e. owners) of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. It will be said to them, 'Put life in what you have created (i.e. painted).' The Prophet added, The angels do not enter a house where there are pictures.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ : أَنَّهَا اشْتَرَتْ نُمْرُقَةً فِيهَا تَصَاوِيرُ ، فَلَمَّا رَآهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَامَ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَلَمْ يَدْخُلْهُ ، فَعَرَفْتُ فِي وَجْهِهِ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَتُوبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَإِلَى رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مَاذَا أَذْنَبْتُ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا بَالُ هَذِهِ النُّمْرُقَةِ ؟ قُلْتُ : اشْتَرَيْتُهَا لَكَ لِتَقْعُدَ عَلَيْهَا وَتَوَسَّدَهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُعَذَّبُونَ ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ : أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّ الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي فِيهِ الصُّوَرُ لَا تَدْخُلُهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم کو امام مالک نے خبر دی، انہیں نافع نے، انہیں قاسم بن محمد نے اور انہیں ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ انہوں نے ایک گدا خریدا جس پر مورتیں تھیں۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی نظر جوں ہی اس پر پڑی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دروازے پر ہی کھڑے ہو گئے اور اندر داخل نہیں ہوئے۔ ( عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ ) میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے چہرہ مبارک پر ناپسندیدگی کے آثار دیکھے تو عرض کیا، یا رسول اللہ! میں اللہ کی بارگاہ میں توبہ کرتی ہوں اور اس کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے معافی مانگتی ہوں، فرمائیے مجھ سے کیا غلطی ہوئی ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، یہ گدا کیسا ہے؟ میں نے کہا کہ میں نے یہ آپ ہی کے لیے خریدا ہے تاکہ آپ اس پر بیٹھیں اور اس سے ٹیک لگائیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، لیکن اس طرح کی مورتیں بنانے والے لوگ قیامت کے دن عذاب کئے جائیں گے۔ اور ان سے کہا جائے گا کہ تم لوگوں نے جس چیز کو بنایا اسے زندہ کر دکھاؤ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ بھی فرمایا کہ جن گھروں میں تصویریں ہوتی ہیں ( رحمت کے ) فرشتے ان میں داخل نہیں ہوتے۔

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, O Bani Najjar! Suggest a price for your garden. Part of it was a ruin and it contained some date palms.

Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet said, The buyer and the seller have the option to cancel or confirm the bargain before they separate from each other or if the sale is optional. Nafi` said, Ibn `Umar used to separate quickly from the seller if he had bought a thing which he liked.

Narrated Hakim bin Hizam : The Prophet said, The buyer and the seller have the option of canceling or confirming the deal unless they separate.

Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, The seller and the buyer have the option of canceling or confirming the deal unless they separate, or one of them says to the other, 'Choose (i.e. decide to cancel or confirm the bargain now). Perhaps he said, 'Or if it is an optional sale.' Ibn `Umar, Shuraih, Ash-Shu`bi, Tawus, Ata, and Ibn Abu Mulaika agree upon this judgment.

Narrated Hakim bin Hizam: The Prophet said, The buyer and the seller have the option of canceling or confirming the bargain unless they separate, and if they spoke the truth and made clear the defects of the goods, them they would be blessed in their bargain, and if they told lies and hid some facts, their bargain would be deprived of Allah's blessings.
