Narrated 'Ubaid bin `Umair: Abu Musa asked `Umar to admit him but he was not admitted as `Umar was busy, so Abu Musa went back. When `Umar finished his job he said, Didn't I hear the voice of `Abdullah bin Qais? Let him come in. `Umar was told that he had left. So, he sent for him and on his arrival, he (Abu Musa) said, We were ordered to do so (i.e. to leave if not admitted after asking permission thrice). `Umar told him, Bring witness in proof of your statement. Abu Musa went to the Ansar's meeting places and asked them. They said, None amongst us will give this witness except the youngest of us, Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri. Abu Musa then took Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (to `Umar) and `Umar said, surprisingly, Has this order of Allah's Apostle been hidden from me? (Then he added), I used to be busy trading in markets.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَامٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ : أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيَّ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ ، وَكَأَنَّهُ كَانَ مَشْغُولًا ، فَرَجَعَ أَبُو مُوسَى فَفَرَغَ عُمَرُ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ صَوْتَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ائْذَنُوا لَهُ ؟ قِيلَ : قَدْ رَجَعَ فَدَعَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : كُنَّا نُؤْمَرُ بِذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : تَأْتِينِي عَلَى ذَلِكَ بِالْبَيِّنَةِ ، فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَى مَجْلِسِ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَسَأَلَهُمْ ، فَقَالُوا : لَا يَشْهَدُ لَكَ عَلَى هَذَا إِلَّا أَصْغَرُنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، فَذَهَبَ بِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : أَخَفِيَ هَذَا عَلَيَّ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَلْهَانِي الصَّفْقُ بِالْأَسْوَاقِ يَعْنِي الْخُرُوجَ إِلَى تِجَارَةٍ .

ہم سے محمد بن سلام نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم کو مخلد بن یزید نے خبر دی، کہا کہ ہمیں ابن جریج نے خبر دی، کہا کہ مجھے عطا بن ابی رباح نے خبر دی، انہیں عبید بن عمیر نے کہ ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ نے عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملنے کی اجازت چاہی لیکن اجازت نہیں ملی۔ غالباً آپ اس وقت کام میں مشغول تھے۔ اس لیے ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ واپس لوٹ گئے۔ پھر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ فارغ ہوئے تو فرمایا کیا میں نے عبداللہ بن قیس ( ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ ) کی آواز نہیں سنی تھی۔ انہیں اندر آنے کی اجازت دے دو۔ کہا گیا وہ لوٹ کر چلے گئے۔ تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں بلا لیا۔ ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہمیں اسی کا حکم ( نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ) تھا ( کہ تین مرتبہ اجازت چاہنے پر اگر اندر جانے کی اجازت نہ ملے تو واپس لوٹ جانا چاہئے ) اس پر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا، اس حدیث پر کوئی گواہ لاؤ۔ ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ انصار کی مجلس میں گئے اور ان سے اس حدیث کے متعلق پوچھا ( کہ کیا کسی نے اسے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے ) ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ اس کی گواہی تو تمہارے ساتھ وہ دے گا جو ہم سب میں بہت ہی کم عمر ہے۔ وہ ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کو اپنے ساتھ لے گئے۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ سن کر فرمایا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ایک حکم مجھ سے پوشیدہ رہ گیا۔ افسوس کہ مجھے بازاروں کی خرید و فروخت نے مشغول رکھا۔ آپ کی مراد تجارت سے تھی۔

Narrated Jabir: A caravan arrived (at Medina) while we were offering the Jumua prayer with the Prophet. The people left out for the caravan, with the exception of twelve persons. Then this Verse was revealed: 'But when they see some bargain or some amusement, they disperse headlong to it and leave you standing. (62.11)

Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet said, If a woman gives in charity from her house meals without wasting (i.e. being extravagant), she will get the reward for her giving, and her husband will also get the reward for his earning and the storekeeper will also get a similar reward. The acquisition of the reward of none of them will reduce the reward of the others.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, If a woman gives something (i.e. in charity) from her husband's earnings without his permission, she will get half his reward.
