Translation

Narrated Nafi`: `Abdullah (bin `Abdullah) bin `Umar said to his father, Stay here, for I am afraid that it (affliction between Ibn Zubair and Al-Hajjaj) might prevent you from reaching the Ka`ba. Ibn `Umar said, (In this case) I would do the same as Allah's Apostle did, and Allah has said, 'Verily, in Allah's Apostle, you have a good example (to follow).' So, I make you, people, witness that I have made `Umra compulsory for me. So he assumed lhram for `Umra. Then he went out and when he reached Al- Baida', he assumed Ihram for Hajj and `Umra (together) and said, The conditions (requisites) of Hajj and `Umra are the same. He, then brought a Hadi from Qudaid. Then he arrived (at Mecca) and performed Tawaf (between Safa and Marwa) once for both Hajj and `Umra and did not finish the lhram till he had finished both Hajj and `Umra.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ لِأَبِيهِ : أَقِمْ فَإِنِّي لَا آمَنُهَا أَنْ سَتُصَدّ عَنْ البيت ، قَالَ : إِذًا أَفْعَلُ كَمَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ : لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ سورة الأحزاب آية 21 ، فَأَنَا أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَوْجَبْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي الْعُمْرَةَ ، فَأَهَلَّ بِالْعُمْرَةِ مِنَ الدَّارِ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ خَرَجَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِالْبَيْدَاءِ أَهَلَّ بِالْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ، وَقَالَ : مَا شَأْنُ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَّا وَاحِدٌ ، ثُمَّ اشْتَرَى الْهَدْيَ مِنْ قُدَيْدٍ ، ثُمَّ قَدِمَ فَطَافَ لَهُمَا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا ، فَلَمْ يَحِلَّ حَتَّى حَلَّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا .

ہم سے ابوالنعمان نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حماد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ایوب نے، ان سے نافع نے بیان کیا کہ عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے اپنے والد سے کہا (جب وہ حج کے لیے نکل رہے تھے) کہ آپ نہ جائیے کیوں کہ میرا خیال ہے کہ ( بدامنی کی وجہ سے ) آپ کو بیت اللہ تک پہنچنے سے روک دیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ پھر میں بھی وہی کام کروں گا جو ( ایسے موقعہ پر ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کیا تھا اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا ہے کہ ”تمہارے لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زندگی بہترین نمونہ ہے“ میں اب تمہیں گواہ بناتا ہوں کہ میں نے اپنے اوپر عمرہ واجب کر لیا ہے، چنانچہ آپ نے عمرہ کا احرام باندھا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ پھر آپ نکلے اور جب بیداء پہنچے تو حج اور عمرہ دونوں کا احرام باندھ لیا اور فرمایا کہ حج اور عمرہ دونوں تو ایک ہی ہیں اس کے بعد قدید پہنچ کر ہدی خریدی پھر مکہ آ کر دونوں کے لیے طواف کیا اور درمیان میں نہیں بلکہ دونوں سے ایک ہی ساتھ حلال ہوئے۔

Narrated Al-Miswar bin Makhrama and Marwan: The Prophet set out from Medina with over one thousand of his companions (at the time of the Treaty of Hudaibiya) and when they reached Dhul-Hulaifa, the Prophet garlanded his Hadi and marked it and assumed Ihram for `Umra.

Narrated `Aisha: I twisted with my own hands the garlands for the Budn of the Prophet who garlanded and marked them, and then made them proceed to Mecca; Yet no permissible thing was regarded as illegal for him then.

Narrated Hafsa: I said, O Allah's Apostle! What is wrong with the people, they have finished their Ihram but you have not? He said, I matted my hair and I have garlanded my Hadi, so I will not finish my Ihram till I finished my Hajj .

Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Apostle used to send the Hadi from Medina and I used to twist the garlands for his Hadi and he did not keep away from any of these things which a Muhrim keeps away from.
