Translation

Narrated Humran: (the slave of 'Uthman) I saw 'Uthman bin 'Affan asking for a tumbler of water (and when it was brought) he poured water over his hands and washed them thrice and then put his right hand in the water container and rinsed his mouth, washed his nose by putting water in it and then blowing it out. then he washed his face and forearms up to the elbows thrice, passed his wet hands over his head and washed his feet up to the ankles thrice. Then he said, Allah's Apostle said 'If anyone performs ablution like that of mine and offers a two-rak'at prayer during which he does not think of anything else (not related to the present prayer) then his past sins will be forgiven.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأُوَيْسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ حُمْرَانَ مَوْلَىعُثْمَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ دَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ ، فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى كَفَّيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَمِينَهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ نَحْوَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يُحَدِّثُ فِيهِمَا نَفْسَهُ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ .

ہم سے عبدالعزیز بن عبداللہ الاویسی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا مجھ سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، وہ ابن شہاب سے نقل کرتے ہیں، انہیں عطاء بن یزید نے خبر دی، انہیں حمران عثمان کے مولیٰ نے خبر دی کہ انہوں نے عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھا، انہوں نے ( حمران سے ) پانی کا برتن مانگا۔ ( اور لے کر پہلے ) اپنی ہتھیلیوں پر تین مرتبہ پانی ڈالا پھر انہیں دھویا۔ اس کے بعد اپنا داہنا ہاتھ برتن میں ڈالا۔ اور ( پانی لے کر ) کلی کی اور ناک صاف کی، پھر تین بار اپنا چہرہ دھویا اور کہنیوں تک تین بار دونوں ہاتھ دھوئے پھر اپنے سر کا مسح کیا پھر ( پانی لے کر ) ٹخنوں تک تین مرتبہ اپنے دونوں پاؤں دھوئے۔ پھر کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے کہ جو شخص میری طرح ایسا وضو کرے، پھر دو رکعت پڑھے، جس میں اپنے نفس سے کوئی بات نہ کرے۔ تو اس کے گذشتہ گناہ معاف کر دئیے جاتے ہیں۔

After performing the ablution 'Uthman said, I am going to tell you a Hadith which I would not have told you, had I not been compelled by a certain Holy Verse (the sub narrator 'Urwa said: This verse is: Verily, those who conceal the clear signs and the guidance which we have sent down...) (2:159). I heard the Prophet saying, 'If a man performs ablution perfectly and then offers the compulsory congregational prayer, Allah will forgive his sins committed between that (prayer) and the (next) prayer till he offers it.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Whoever performs ablution should clean his nose with water by putting the water in it and then blowing it out, and whoever cleans his private parts with stones should do it with odd number of stones.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, If anyone of you performs ablution he should put water in his nose and then blow it out and whoever cleans his private parts with stones should do so with odd numbers. And whoever wakes up from his sleep should wash his hands before putting them in the water for ablution, because nobody knows where his hands were during sleep.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: The Prophet remained behind us on a journey. He joined us while we were performing ablution for the `Asr prayer which was overdue and we were just passing wet hands over our feet (not washing them thoroughly) so he addressed us in a loud voice saying twice , Save your heels from the fire.

Then he washed his face thrice and (then) forearms up to the elbows thrice, then passed his wet hands over his head and then washed each foot thrice. After that `Uthman said, I saw the Prophet performing ablution like this of mine, and he said, 'If anyone performs ablution like that of mine and offers a two-rak`at prayer during which he does not think of anything else (not related to the present prayer) then his past sins will be forgiven. '

Narrated Muhammad Ibn Ziyad: I heard Abu Huraira saying as he passed by us while the people were performing ablution from a utensil containing water, Perform ablution perfectly and thoroughly for Abul-Qasim (the Prophet) said, 'Save your heels from the Hell-fire.'
