(Ibn `Umar added): Later on Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) once again went along with Ubai bin Ka`b to the date-palm trees (garden) where Ibn Saiyad was staying. The Prophet (p.b.u.h) wanted to hear something from Ibn Saiyad before Ibn Saiyad could see him, and the Prophet (p.b.u.h) saw him lying covered with a sheet and from where his murmurs were heard. Ibn Saiyad's mother saw Allah's Apostle while he was hiding himself behind the trunks of the date-palm trees. She addressed Ibn Saiyad, O Saf ! (and this was the name of Ibn Saiyad) Here is Muhammad. And with that Ibn Saiyad got up. The Prophet said, Had this woman left him (Had she not disturbed him), then Ibn Saiyad would have revealed the reality of his case.

وَقَالَ سَالِمٌ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا , يَقُولُ : انْطَلَقَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ إِلَى النَّخْلِ الَّتِي فِيهَا ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ ، وَهُوَ يَخْتِلُ أَنْ يَسْمَعَ مِنْ ابْنِ صَيَّادٍ شَيْئًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرَاهُ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ ، فَرَآهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُضْطَجِعٌ يَعْنِي : فِي قَطِيفَةٍ لَهُ فِيهَا رَمْزَةٌ أَوْ زَمْرَةٌ ، فَرَأَتْ أمُّ ابْنِ صَيّادٍ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَتَّقِي بِجُذُوعِ النَّخْلِ ، فَقَالَتْ لِابْنِ صَيَّادٍ : يَا صَافِ وَهُوَ اسْمُ ابْنِ صَيَّادٍ هَذَا مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَثَارَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ , فَقَالَ : النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ تَرَكَتْهُ بَيَّنَ ، وَقَالَ شُعَيْبٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : فَرَفَصَهُ رَمْرَمَةٌ أَوْ زَمْزَمَةٌ ، وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ الْكَلْبِيُّ وَعُقَيْلٌ : رَمْرَمَةٌ ، وَقَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : رَمْزَةٌ .

اور سالم نے کہا کہ میں نے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا وہ کہتے تھے پھر ایک دن نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ دونوں مل کر ان کھجور کے درختوں میں گئے۔ جہاں ابن صیاد تھا ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چاہتے تھے کہ ابن صیاد آپ کو نہ دیکھے اور ) اس سے پہلے کہ وہ آپ کو دیکھے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم غفلت میں اس سے کچھ باتیں سن لیں۔ آخر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کو دیکھ لیا۔ وہ ایک چادر اوڑھے پڑا تھا۔ کچھ گن گن یا پھن پھن کر رہا تھا۔ لیکن مشکل یہ ہوئی کہ ابن صیاد کی ماں نے دور ہی سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھ لیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھجور کے تنوں میں چھپ چھپ کر جا رہے تھے۔ اس نے پکار کر ابن صیاد سے کہہ دیا صاف! یہ نام ابن صیاد کا تھا۔ دیکھو محمد آن پہنچے۔ یہ سنتے ہی وہ اٹھ کھڑا ہوا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کاش اس کی ماں ابن صیاد کو باتیں کرنے دیتی تو وہ اپنا حال کھولتا۔ شعیب نے اپنی روایت میں «رمرمة فرفصه» اور عقیل نے «رمرمة‏» نقل کیا ہے اور معمر نے «رمزة‏» کہا ہے۔

Narrated Anas: A young Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet and he became sick. So the Prophet went to visit him. He sat near his head and asked him to embrace Islam. The boy looked at his father, who was sitting there; the latter told him to obey Abul-Qasim and the boy embraced Islam. The Prophet came out saying: Praises be to Allah Who saved the boy from the Hell-fire.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: My mother and I were among the weak and oppressed. I from among the children, and my mother from among the women.

Narrated Ibn Shihab: The funeral prayer should be offered for every child even if he were the son of a prostitute as he was born with a true faith of Islam (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone). If his parents are Muslims, particularly the father, even if his mother were a non-Muslim, and if he after the delivery cries (even once) before his death (i.e. born alive) then the funeral prayer must be offered. And if the child does not cry after his delivery (i.e. born dead) then his funeral prayer should not be offered, and he will be considered as a miscarriage. Abu Huraira, narrated that the Prophet said, Every child is born with a true faith (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) but his parents convert him to Judaism or to Christianity or to Magainism, as an animal delivers a perfect baby animal. Do you find it mutilated? Then Abu Huraira recited the holy verses: 'The pure Allah's Islamic nature (true faith i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone), with which He has created human beings.' (30.30).

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, Every child is born with a true faith of Islam (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) but his parents convert him to Judaism, Christianity or Magainism, as an animal delivers a perfect baby animal. Do you find it mutilated? Then Abu Huraira recited the holy verses: The pure Allah's Islamic nature (true faith of Islam) (i.e. worshipping none but Allah) with which He has created human beings. No change let there be in the religion of Allah (i.e. joining none in worship with Allah). That is the straight religion (Islam) but most of men know, not. (30.30)

Narrated Sa`id bin Al-Musaiyab from his father: When the time of the death of Abu Talib approached, Allah's Apostle went to him and found Abu Jahl bin Hisham and `Abdullah bin Abi Umaiya bin Al-Mughira by his side. Allah's Apostle said to Abu Talib, O uncle! Say: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, a sentence with which I shall be a witness (i.e. argue) for you before Allah. Abu Jahl and `Abdullah bin Abi Umaiya said, O Abu Talib! Are you going to denounce the religion of `Abdul Muttalib? Allah's Apostle kept on inviting Abu Talib to say it (i.e. 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah') while they (Abu Jahl and `Abdullah) kept on repeating their statement till Abu Talib said as his last statement that he was on the religion of `Abdul Muttalib and refused to say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' (Then Allah's Apostle said, I will keep on asking Allah's forgiveness for you unless I am forbidden (by Allah) to do so. So Allah revealed (the verse) concerning him (i.e. It is not fitting for the Prophet and those who believe that they should invoke (Allah) for forgiveness for pagans even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of the fire (9.113).

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet once passed by two graves, and those two persons (in the graves) were being tortured. He said, They are being tortured not for a great thing (to avoid). One of them never saved himself from being soiled with his urine, while the other was going about with calumnies (to make enmity between friends). He then took a green leaf of a date-palm tree split it into two pieces and fixed one on each grave. The people said, O Allah's Apostle! Why have you done so? He replied, I hope that their punishment may be lessened till they (the leaf) become dry.
