Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: The Jew brought to the Prophet a man and a woman from amongst them who have committed (adultery) illegal sexual intercourse. He ordered both of them to be stoned (to death), near the place of offering the funeral prayers beside the mosque.

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ جَاءُوا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ , وَامْرَأَةٍ زَنَيَا , فَأَمَرَ بِهِمَا فَرُجِمَا قَرِيبًا مِنْ مَوْضِعِ الْجَنَائِزِ عِنْدَ الْمَسْجِدِ .

ہم سے ابراہیم بن منذر نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوضمرہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے موسیٰ بن عقبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے نافع نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ یہود نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے حضور میں اپنے ہم مذہب ایک مرد اور عورت کا، جنہوں نے زنا کیا تھا، مقدمہ لے کر آئے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے حکم سے مسجد کے نزدیک نماز جنازہ پڑھنے کی جگہ کے پاس انہیں سنگسار کر دیا گیا۔

Narrated `Urwa: Aisha said, The Prophet in his fatal illness said, 'Allah cursed the Jews and the Christians because they took the graves of their Prophets as places for praying. ' Aisha added, Had it not been for that, the grave of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) would have been made prominent but I am afraid it might be taken (as a) place for praying.
