Hammam bin AI-Harith narrated: Jarir bin Abdullah urinated, then he performed Wudu, wiping over his Khuff. So he was asked, 'You do this?' He replied, 'What prevents me, when I have seen Allah's Messenger doing it? He [Ibrahim] said And they were impressed by the narration of Jarir since he accepted Islam after the revelation Sural Al-Ma'idah. [This is the saying of lbrahim, that is, They were impressed. ] [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from Umar, Ali, Hudhaifah, AI-Mughirah, Bilil, Sa'd, Abu Ayyub, Salman, Buraidah, Amr bin Umayyah, Anas, Sahl bin Sa'd, Ya'la bin Murrah, Ubadah bin As-Samit, Usamah bin Shank, Abu Umamah, Jabir, Usamah bin Zaid, and Ibn Ubadah. They call him Ibn Imarah and Ubayy bin Imarah.

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَالَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقِيلَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَفْعَلُ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَا يَمْنَعُنِي وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُهُ. قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ حَدِيثُ جَرِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِأَنَّ إِسْلَامَهُ كَانَ بَعْدَ نُزُولِ الْمَائِدَةِ هَذَا قَوْلُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَعْنِي كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ،‏‏‏‏ قال:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحُذَيْفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْمُغِيرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَعْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَلْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي أُمَامَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُبَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ ابْنُ عِمَارَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُبَيُّ بْنُ عِمَارَةَ. قال أبو عيسى:‏‏‏‏ وَحَدِيثُ جَرِيرٍ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

ہمام بن حارث کہتے ہیں کہ جریر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما نے پیشاب کیا پھر وضو کیا اور اپنے موزوں پر مسح کیا، ان سے کہا گیا: کیا آپ ایسا کر رہے ہیں؟ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھے اس کام سے کون سی چیز روک سکتی ہے جبکہ میں نے خود رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وسلم کو ایسا کرتے دیکھا ہے، ابراہیم نخعی کہتے ہیں کہ صحابہ کرام کو جریر رضی الله عنہ کی یہ حدیث اچھی لگتی تھی کیونکہ ان کا اسلام سورۃ المائدہ کے نزول کے بعد کا ہے ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- جریر رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عمر، علی، حذیفہ، مغیرہ، بلال، ابوایوب، سلمان، بریدۃ، عمرو بن امیہ، انس، سہل بن سعد، یعلیٰ بن مرہ، عبادہ بن صامت، اسامہ بن شریک، ابوامامہ، جابر، اسامہ بن زید، ابن عبادۃ جنہیں ابن عمارہ اور ابی بن عمارہ بھی کہا جاتا ہے رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

It has been related from Sahr bin Hawshah that he said: I saw Jarir bin 'Abdullah performing Wudu and he wiped over his Khuff. I asked him about that. He replied, 'I saw 'I saw Allah's Messenger performing Wudu and he wiped over his Khuff.' So I said to him, before Surah AI-Ma'idah (was revealed) or after AI-Ma'idah?' So he replied, 'I did not acceot Islam until after Al-Ma'idah.' Qutaibah narrated this to us; (saying) Khalid bin Ziyad At-Tirmidhi narrated it to us, from Muqatil bin Hayyan, from Shahr bin Hawshah, from Jarir. He said: Baqiyyah related it from Ibrahim bin Adham from Muqatil bin Hayyan, from Shahr bin Hawshah, from Jarir. This Hadith is explanatory, because some who dislike wiping over the Khuff give the interpretation that the Prophet's wiping over the two Khuff was before the revelation of Sural Al-Ma'idah. But in his Hadlth, Jarir mentions that he saw the Prophet wiping over his Khuff after the revelation of Surat Al-Ma'idah

Khuzaimah bin Thabit narrated: The Prophet was asked about wiping over the Khuff. So he said: Three (days) for the traveler, and one day for the resident.

Safwan bin Assal narrated: 'When we were traveling, Allah's Messenger would order us not to remove our Khuff for three days and nights, except for Janabah, but not for defecating, urinating, and sleep.
