Ibn Umar narrated: The Prophet would say the following for the Talbiyah: Labbaik Allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni;mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika laka. ('I respond to Your call O Allah! I respond to Your call. You have no partner. I respond to Your call. All praise, thanks and blessings are for You. All sovereignty is for You. And You have no partners with You).'

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ تَلْبِيَةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَتْ:‏‏‏‏ لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالشَّافِعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْمَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ:‏‏‏‏ وَإِنْ زَادَ فِي التَّلْبِيَةِ شَيْئًا مِنْ تَعْظِيمِ اللَّهِ فَلَا بَأْسَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ أَنْ يَقْتَصِرَ عَلَى تَلْبِيَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ:‏‏‏‏ وَإِنَّمَا قُلْنَا:‏‏‏‏ لَا بَأْسَ بِزِيَادَةِ تَعْظِيمِ اللَّهِ فِيهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِمَا جَاءَ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ حَفِظَ التَّلْبِيَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ زَادَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فِي تَلْبِيَتِهِ مِنْ قِبَلِهِ لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا تلبیہ یہ تھا «لبيك اللهم لبيك لبيك لا شريك لك لبيك إن الحمد والنعمة لك والملك لا شريك لك» ”حاضر ہوں، اے اللہ میں حاضر ہوں، حاضر ہوں، تیرا کوئی شریک نہیں میں حاضر ہوں۔ سب تعریف اور نعمت تیری ہی ہے اور سلطنت بھی، تیرا کوئی شریک نہیں“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابن عمر رضی الله عنہما کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابن مسعود، جابر، ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا، ابن عباس اور ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- صحابہ کرام وغیرہم میں سے بعض اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔ اور یہی سفیان، شافعی، احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کا بھی قول ہے، ۴- شافعی کہتے ہیں: اگر وہ اللہ کی تعظیم کے کچھ کلمات کا اضافہ کر لے تو کوئی حرج نہیں ہو گا - ان شاء اللہ- لیکن میرے نزدیک پسندیدہ بات یہ ہے کہ وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے تلبیہ پر اکتفا کرے۔ شافعی کہتے ہیں: ہم نے جو یہ کہا کہ ”اللہ کی تعظیم کے کچھ کلمات بڑھا لینے میں کوئی حرج نہیں تو اس دلیل سے کہ ابن عمر سے مروی ہے کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے تلبیہ یاد کیا پھر اپنی طرف سے اس میں «لبيك والرغباء إليك والعمل» ”حاضر ہوں، تیری ہی طرف رغبت ہے اور عمل بھی تیرے ہی لیے ہے“ کا اضافہ کیا ۱؎۔

Nafi` narrated: When Ibn Umar would say the talbiyah he would continue saying: Labbaik Allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni`mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika laka (I respond to Your call O Allah! I respond to Your call, You have no partner, I respond to You call. All praise, thanks and blessings are for You. And You have no partners with You). He said: Abdullah bin Umar would say: 'This is the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah.' He would himself add the following after the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah: Labbaik labbaika wa-sa'daik, wal-khairuu fi yadaik. Labbaika war-raghba'u ilaika wal-amal ('I respond to Your call, and I am obedient to Your orders, all good is in Your Hands. I respond to Your call and the requests and deeds are for You).'

Abu Bakr As-Siddiq narrated that: The Messenger of Allah was asked: Which Hajj is the most virtuous? He said: That with raised voices (Al-Ajj) and the flow of blood (of the sacrifice) (Ath-Thajj).

Sahl bin Sa'd narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: There is no Muslim who says the Talbiyah except that - on his right and left, until the end f the land, from here to there - the rocks, or trees, or mud say the Talbiyah.

Khallad bin As-Sa'ib (bin Khalad) narrated from his father: Who said that the Messenger of Allah said: Jibril came to me and ordered me to order my Companions to raise their voices with the Ihlal, or; the Talbiyah.

Ibn Umar narrated that: A man said: Where should we begin our Hil (Ihram) O Messenger of Allah? He said: The people of Al-Madinah begin their Hil (Ihram) from Dhul-Hulaifah, the people from Ash-Sham from Al-Juhfah, and the people of Najd from Qarn. And he (Ibn Umar) said: ( And they say:) And the people of Yemen from Yalamlam.
