Jabir bin Abdullah narrated: When the Prophet wanted to Perform Hajj, he announced it to the people, and they gathered (to accompany him). When he reached Al-Baida he assumed Ihram

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَجَّ أَذَّنَ فِي النَّاسِ فَاجْتَمَعُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا أَتَى الْبَيْدَاءَ أَحْرَمَ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ جب نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حج کا ارادہ کیا تو آپ نے لوگوں میں اعلان کرایا۔ ( مدینہ میں ) لوگ اکٹھا ہو گئے، چنانچہ جب آپ ( وہاں سے چل کر ) بیداء پہنچے تو احرام باندھا ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- جابر رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابن عمر، انس، مسور بن مخرمہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Ibn Abbas narrated: The Messenger of Allah performed Tamattu, as did Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman. And the first to prohibit it was Mu'awiyah.

Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Al-Harith bin Nawfal narrated that: He heard Sa'd bin Abi Waqas, and Ad-Dahhak bin Qais while they were mentioning Tamattu after Umrah until Hajj. Ad-Dahhak bin Qais said: No one does that except one who is ignorant of the order of Allah, Most High. Sa'd said: How horrible is it what you have said O my nephew! So Ad-Dahhak (bin Qais) said: Indeed Umar bin Al-Khattab has prohibited that. So Sa'd said: The Messenger of Allah did it, and we did it with him.
