Abu Dharr narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: O Abu Dharr! When you fast three days out of a month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ بَسَامٍ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ، يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِذَا صُمْتَ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَصُمْ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ . وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقُرَّةَ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي عَقْرَبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَتَادَةَ بْنِ مِلْحَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَرِيرٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ فِي بَعْضِ الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ مَنْ صَامَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ كَانَ كَمَنْ صَامَ الدَّهْرَ.

ابوذر رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ابوذر! جب تم ہر ماہ کے تین دن کے روزے رکھو تو تیرہویں، چودہویں اور پندرہویں تاریخ کو رکھو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوذر رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابوقتادہ، عبداللہ بن عمرو، قرہ بن ایاس مزنی، عبداللہ بن مسعود، ابوعقرب، ابن عباس، عائشہ، قتادہ بن ملحان، عثمان بن ابی العاص اور جریر رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- بعض احادیث میں یہ بھی ہے کہ ”جس نے ہر ماہ تین دن کے روزے رکھے تو وہ اس شخص کی طرح ہے جس نے صوم الدھر رکھا“۔

Abu Dharr narrated: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts three days in every month, then that is (similar to) fasting every day.' Then Allah Mighty and Sublime is He, attested to that in His Book, by revealing: Whoever brings a good deed, shall have ten times the like thereof. So a day is like ten.

Yazid Ar-Rishk said: I heard Mu'adhah saying to Aishah: 'Did the Messenger of Allah fast three days of every month?' She replied in the affirmative. So she said: 'Which of them would he fast?' She said: 'Which of them he would fast was not noticeable.'

Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: Indeed your Lord said: 'Every good deed is rewarded with ten of the same up to seven hundred times over. Fasting is for Me, and I shall reward for it.' Fasting is a shield from the Fire. The smell coming from the mouth of the one fasting is more pleasant to Allah than the scent of musk. If one of you is abused by an ignorant person while fasting, then let him say: 'Indeed I am fasting.'

Sahl bin Sa'd narrated that: The Prophet said: There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyyan, those who fast shall be invited into it, and whoever was among those who fasted, then he will enter it; and whoever enters it, he will never thirst again.

Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: There are two joys for the fasting person: the joy when he breaks his fast, and the joy of when he meets his Lord.

Abu Qatadah said: It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What is the case of the one who fasts daily?' He said: 'He did not fast nor break (the fast).' Or, he said: He never fasted nor broke (his fast).
