Salim narrated from his father that : the Messenger of Allah instituted the Ushr of what was watered by the heavens and steams, or through natural channels, and half of the Ushr for what is watered by irrigation.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سَنَّ فِيمَا سَقَتِ السَّمَاءُ وَالْعُيُونُ أَوْ كَانَ عَثَرِيًّا الْعُشْرَ وَفِيمَا سُقِيَ بِالنَّضْحِ نِصْفَ الْعُشْرِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ طریقہ جاری فرمایا کہ جسے بارش یا چشمے کے پانی نے سیراب کیا ہو، یا عثری یعنی رطوبت والی زمین ہو جسے پانی دینے کی ضرورت نہ پڑتی ہو تو اس میں دسواں حصہ زکاۃ ہے، اور جسے ڈول سے سیراب کیا جاتا ہو اس میں دسویں کا آدھا یعنی بیسواں حصہ زکاۃ ہے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Attab bin Asid narrated that : the Prophet said about Zakat on grapevines: They are to be assessed just as the date-palm is assessed. Then its Zakat is paid in raisins just as the Zakat for the date-palm is paid in dried dates.
