Narrated Abu Hurairah: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when Surat Al-Jumu'ah was revealed, so he recited it until he reached: 'And others among them who have not yet joined them (62:3).' A man said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people who have not yet joined us?' But he did not say anything to him. He said: Salman Al-Farisi was among us. He said: So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) placed his hand upon Salman and said: 'By the One Whose Hand is my soul! If faith were on Pleiades then men among these people would reach it.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الدِّيلِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةُ الْجُمُعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَتَلَاهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ سورة الجمعة آية 3، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا بِنَا ؟ فَلَمْ يُكَلِّمْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَسَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ فِينَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ عَلَى سَلْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَوْ كَانَ الْإِيمَانُ بِالثُّرَيَّا لَتَنَاوَلَهُ رِجَالٌ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو الْغَيْثِ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُطِيعٍ مَدَنِيٌّ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ جس وقت سورۃ الجمعہ نازل ہوئی ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس موجود تھے، آپ نے اس کی تلاوت فرمائی، جب «وآخرين منهم لما يلحقوا بهم» پر پہنچے تو آپ سے ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! یہ کون لوگ ہیں جو ابھی ہم سے ملے نہیں ہیں تو آپ نے اسے کوئی جواب نہیں دیا، وہ کہتے ہیں: اور سلمان فارسی ہم میں موجود تھے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنا ہاتھ سلمان کے اوپر رکھا اور فرمایا: ”قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے اگر ایمان ثریا پر بھی ہو گا تو بھی اس کے کچھ لوگ اسے حاصل کر لیں گے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- اور یہ متعدد سندوں سے ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے مرفوع طریقہ سے آئی ہے۔

Narrated Zaid bin Thabit [may Allah be pleased with him]: that the Prophet (ﷺ) looked towards Yemen and said: O Allah direct their hearts and bless us in our Sa' and our Mudd.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The people of Yemen have come to you. They are weaker in heart and softer in understanding, faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni.

Narrated Anas: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Al-Azd is Allah's lion upon the earth, the people wish to lower them but Allah refuses except to raise them. A time will come upon the people where a man will say: I wish my father was Azadi, I wish my mother was Azadi.

Narrated Mina, the freed slave of 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf: that Abu Hurairah said: We were with the Prophet (ﷺ) and a man came to him who I think was from Qais. So he said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Curse Himyar.' So he turned away from him, then he went to his other side, and he turned away from him. Then he went to his other side, and he turned away from him. Then he went to his other side, and he turned away from him. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'May Allah have mercy upon Himyar! Their mouths are (full of) peace, their hands are (generous with) food, and they are the people of trust and faith.'
