Narrated Abu Buraidah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) awoke in the morning and called for Bilal, then said: 'O Bilal! By what have you preceded me to Paradise? I have not entered Paradise at all, except that I heard your footsteps before me. I entered Paradise last night, and I heard your footsteps before me, and I came upon a square palace having balconies made of gold. So I said: 'Whose palace is this?' They said: 'A man among the Arabs.' So I said: 'I am an Arab, whose palace is this?' They said: 'A man among the Quraish.' So I said: 'I am from the Quraish, whose palace is this?' They said: 'A man from the Ummah of Muhammad (ﷺ).' So I said: 'I am Muhammad, whose palace is this?' They said: ''Umar bin Al-Khattab's.' So Bilal said: 'O Allah's Messenger! I have never called the Adhan except that I prayed two Rak'ah, and I never committed Hadath except that I performed Wudu upon that, and I considered that I owed Allah two Rak'ah.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'For those two.'

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي بُرَيْدَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَعَا بِلَالًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا بِلَالُ بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ ؟ مَا دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ قَطُّ إِلَّا سَمِعْتُ خَشْخَشَتَكَ أَمَامِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏دَخَلْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْخَشَتَكَ أَمَامِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَى قَصْرٍ مُرَبَّعٍ مُشْرِفٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ ؟ فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ الْعَرَبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا عَرَبِيٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا قُرَشِيٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَذَّنْتُ قَطُّ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا أَصَابَنِي حَدَثٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا تَوَضَّأْتُ عِنْدَهَا وَرَأَيْتُ أَنَّ لِلَّهِ عَلَيَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ بِهِمَا . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُعَاذٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لِمَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَقِيلَ:‏‏‏‏ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعْنَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنِّي دَخَلْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ الْجَنَّةَ يَعْنِي رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنِّي دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَكَذَا رُوِيَ فِي بَعْضِ الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُرْوَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رُؤْيَا الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَحْيٌ.

بریدہ رضی الله عنہ کا بیان ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( ایک دن ) صبح کی تو بلال رضی الله عنہ کو بلایا اور پوچھا: ”بلال! کیا وجہ ہے کہ تم جنت میں میرے آگے آگے رہے؟ کبھی ایسا نہیں ہوا کہ میں جنت میں داخل ہوا ہوں اور اپنے آگے تمہاری کھڑاؤں کی آواز نہ سنی ہو، آج رات میں جنت میں داخل ہوا تو ( آج بھی ) میں نے اپنے آگے تمہارے کھڑاؤں کی آواز سنی، پھر سونے کے ایک چوکور بلند محل پر سے گزرا تو میں نے پوچھا کہ یہ محل کس کا ہے؟ فرشتوں نے بیان کیا کہ یہ ایک عرب آدمی کا ہے، تو میں نے کہا: میں ( بھی ) عرب ہوں، بتاؤ یہ کس کا ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: یہ قریش کے ایک شخص کا ہے، میں نے کہا: میں ( بھی ) قریشی ہوں، بتاؤ یہ محل کس کا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: یہ محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی امت کے ایک فرد کا ہے، میں نے کہا: میں محمد ہوں، یہ محل کس کا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: عمر بن خطاب کا ہے“، بلال رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! ایسا کبھی نہیں ہوا کہ میں نے اذان دی ہو اور دو رکعتیں نہ پڑھی ہوں اور نہ کبھی ایسا ہوا ہے کہ مجھے حدث لاحق ہوا ہو اور میں نے اسی وقت وضو نہ کر لیا ہو اور یہ نہ سمجھا ہو کہ اللہ کے لیے میرے اوپر دو رکعتیں ( واجب ) ہیں، اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”انہیں دونوں رکعتوں ( یا خصلتوں ) کی سے ( یہ مرتبہ حاصل ہوا ہے“ ۱؎ ) ۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں جابر، معاذ، انس اور ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی مروی ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میں نے جنت میں سونے کا ایک محل دیکھا تو میں نے کہا: یہ کس کا ہے؟ کہا گیا: یہ عمر بن خطاب کا ہے“، ۳- حدیث کے الفاظ «أني دخلت البارحة الجنة» کا مفہوم یہ ہے کہ میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ گویا میں جنت میں داخل ہوا ہوں، بعض روایتوں میں ایسا ہی ہے، ۴- ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا: انبیاء کے خواب وحی ہیں۔

Narrated Buraidah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out for one of his expeditions, then when he came back, a black slave girl came to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I took an oath that if Allah returned you safely, I would beat the Duff before you and sing.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her: 'If you have taken an oath, then beat it, and if you have not then do not.' So she started to beat the Duff, and Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it. Then 'Ali entered while she was beating it, then 'Uthman entered while she was beating it. Then 'Umar entered, so she put the Duff under her, and sat upon it. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed Ash-Shaitan is afraid of you O 'Umar! I was sitting while she beat it, and then Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it, then 'Ali entered while she was beating it, then 'Uthman entered while she was beating it, then when you entered O 'Umar and she put away the Duff.'

Narrated 'Aishah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was sitting and we heard a scream and the voices of children. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) arose, and it was an Ethiopian woman, prancing around while the children played around her. So he said: 'O 'Aishah, come (and) see.' So I came, and I put my chin upon the shoulder of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I began to watch her from between his shoulder and his head, and he said to me: 'Have you had enough, have you had enough?' She said: So I kept saying: 'No,' to see my status with him. Then 'Umar appeared. She said: So they dispersed. She said: So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed I see the Shayatin among men and jinn have run from 'Umar.' She said: 'So I returned.'

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I am the first for whom the earth will split, then Abu Bakr, then 'Umar. Then the people of Al-Baqi; they will be gathered with me. Then I will await the people of Makkah until they are resurrected between the Two Sacred areas.

Narrated 'Aishah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Among the nations, there used to be Muhaddathun (those who were given understanding), and if there were one in my nation, it would be 'Umar bin Al-Khattab.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: A man among the inhabitants of Paradise will appear before you. So Abu Bakr appeared. Then he said: A man among the inhabitants of Paradise will appear before you. So 'Umar appeared.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: While a man was tending some of his sheep, a wolf came and took a sheep. So its owner came and retrieved it. The wolf said: 'What will you do for it on the Day of the Predator, the day when there will be no shepherd for it other than me?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: So I believe in that, I and Abu Bakr, and 'Umar. (One of the narrators) Abu Salamah said: And the two of them were (present) not among the people that day.
