Ibn `Umar [may Allah be pleased with him] said: “We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when a man among the people said: ‘Allah is most exceedingly great, and praise is due to Allah, abundantly, and glory to Allah morning and night (Allāhu akbaru kabīran wal-ḥamdulillāhi kathīran wa subḥānallāhi bukratan wa aṣīlā).’ So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Who is the one who said such and such?’ So a man among the people said: ‘Me, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).’ He said: ‘I was amazed at it. The gates of heaven opened up for it.’” Ibn `Umar said: “I have not abandoned them since I heard [them] from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).”

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِذْ قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنِ الْقَائِلُ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَجِبْتُ لَهَا فُتِحَتْ لَهَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ . قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا تَرَكْتُهُنَّ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ هُوَ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ الصَّوَّافُ،‏‏‏‏ وَيُكْنَى:‏‏‏‏ أَبَا الصَّلْتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْحَدِيثِ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ایک بار ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے ۱؎، اسی دوران ایک شخص نے کہا: «الله أكبر كبيرا والحمد لله كثيرا وسبحان الله بكرة وأصيلا» ”اللہ بہت بڑائی والا ہے، اور ساری تعریفیں اللہ ہی کے لیے ہیں، اور پاکی ہے اللہ تعالیٰ کے لیے صبح و شام“، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( سنا تو ) پوچھا: ”ایسا ایسا کس نے کہا ہے؟“ لوگوں میں سے ایک شخص نے کہا: میں نے کہا ہے، اے اللہ کے رسول! آپ نے فرمایا: ”میں اس کلمے کو سن کر حیرت میں پڑ گیا، اس کلمے کے لیے آسمان کے دروازے کھولے گئے“۔ ابن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں: جب سے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یہ بات سنی ہے میں نے ان کا پڑھنا کبھی نہیں چھوڑا ہے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث اس سند سے حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ۲- حجاج بن ابی عثمان یہ حجاج بن میسرہ صواف ہیں، ان کی کنیت ابوصلت ہے اور یہ محدثین کے نزدیک ثقہ ہیں۔ فائدہ ۱؎: ”نماز پڑھ رہے تھے“ سے مراد: ہم لوگ نماز شروع کر چکے تھے، اتنے میں وہ آدمی آیا اور دعا ثناء کی جگہ اس نے یہی کلمات کہے، اس پر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کی تقریر ( تصدیق ) کر دی، تو گویا ثناء کی دیگر دعاؤں کے ساتھ یہ دعا بھی ایک ثناء ہے، امام نسائی دعا ثناء کے باب ہی میں اس حدیث کو لاتے ہیں، اس لیے بعض علماء کا یہ کہنا کہ «سبحانک اللہم …» کے سواء ثنا کی بابت منقول ساری دعائیں سنن و نوافل سے تعلق رکھتی ہیں، صحیح نہیں ہے۔

Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) visited him, or that Abu Dharr visited the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and said: “May my father and my mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Which speech is most beloved to Allah [the Mighty and Sublime]?” So he said: “That which Allah selected for His angels (to say): ‘Glory to my Lord, and with His praise. Glory to my Lord, and with His praise (Subḥāna rabbī wa biḥamdihi, subḥāna rabbī wa biḥamdihi).’”

Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The supplication is not rejected between the Adhan and the Iqamah.” They said: “So what should we say, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?” He said: “Ask Allah for Al-`Afiyah in the world and in the Hereafter.”

Anas [bin Malik] narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The supplication is not rejected between the Adhan and the Iqamah.”

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The Mufarridun have preceded.” They said: “And who are the Mufarridun, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?” He said: “Those who absorb themselves in the remembrance of Allah, and remembrance removed their heavy burdens from them, until they will come on the Day of Judgement being light (in weight of their burdens).”

Abu Hurairah [may Allah be pleased with him] narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “That I should say: ‘Glory is to Allah (Subḥān Allāh).’ ‘All praise is due to Allah (Al-ḥamdulillāh),’ ‘None has the right to be worshipped by Allah (Lā ilāha illallāh),’ and ‘Allah is the greatest (Allāhu akbar)’ is more beloved to me than all that the sun has risen over.”

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There are three whose supplication is not rejected: The fasting person when he breaks his fast, the just leader, and the supplication of the oppressed person; Allah raises it up above the clouds and opens the gates of heaven to it. And the Lord says: ‘By My might, I shall surely aid you, even if it should be after a while.’”
