Jabir bin `Abdullah (ra) narrated that : the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The best remembrance is: ‘there is none worthy of worship except Allah (Lā ilāha illallāh)’ and the best supplication is: ‘All praise is due to Allah (Al-ḥamdulillāh).’”
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ خِرَاشٍ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ:‏‏‏‏ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ:‏‏‏‏ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ مُوسَى بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَى عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ.
جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”سب سے بہتر ذکر «لا إلہ إلا اللہ» ہے، اور بہترین دعا «الحمد للہ» ہے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف موسیٰ بن ابراہیم کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- علی بن مدینی اور کئی نے یہ حدیث موسیٰ بن ابراہیم سے روایت کی ہے۔

Aban bin `Uthman said: “I heard `Uthman bin `Affan (ra) saying: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There is no worshiper who says, in the morning of every day, and the evening of every night: ‘In the Name of Allah, who with His Name, nothing in the earth or the heavens can cause harm, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing (Bismillāh, alladhi lā yaḍurru ma`a ismihi shai'un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā', wa huwas-Samī`ul `Alīm)’ – three times, (except that) nothing shall harm him.” And Aban had been stricken with a type of semi-paralysis, so a man began to look at him, so Aban said to him, “What are you looking at? Indeed the Hadith is as I reported it to you, but I did not say it one day, so Allah brought about His decree upon me.”

Thawban (ra) said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever says when he reaches the evening: “I am pleased with Allah as (my) Lord, with Islam as (my) religion, and with Muhammad (ﷺ) as (my) Prophet (Raḍītu billāhi rabban wabil-Islāmi dīnan wa bi-Muḥammadin nabiyyan) it is a duty upon Allah to please him.’” (Hasan Gharib)
