Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: There was a woman who performed Salat behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) who was the most beautiful among the people. Some of the people would go forward to the first line so as not to see her. Others would go back to the last line so when he would bow, he could look at her from under his armpit. So Allah revealed: Indeed We know those who try to come forward among you, and We know those who try to go back (15:24).

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْحُدَّانِيُّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَتِ امْرَأَةٌ تُصَلِّي خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَسْنَاءُ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ النَّاسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَانَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ يَتَقَدَّمُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ لِئَلَّا يَرَاهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَسْتَأْخِرُ بَعْضُهُمْ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي الصَّفِّ الْمُؤَخَّرِ فَإِذَا رَكَعَ نَظَرَ مِنْ تَحْتِ إِبْطَيْهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ سورة الحجر آية 24 ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَى جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ نَحْوَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا أَشْبَهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَصَحَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ نُوحٍ.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ایک خوبصورت عورت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے ( عورتوں کی صفوں میں ) نماز پڑھا کرتی تھی تو بعض لوگ آگے بڑھ کر پہلی صف میں ہو جاتے تھے تاکہ وہ اسے نہ دیکھ سکیں اور بعض آگے سے پیچھے آ کر آخری صف میں ہو جاتے تھے ( عورتوں کی صف سے ملی ہوئی صف میں ) پھر جب وہ رکوع میں جاتے تو اپنی بغلوں کے نیچے سے اسے دیکھتے، اس موقع پر اللہ تعالیٰ نے آیت «ولقد علمنا المستقدمين منكم ولقد علمنا المستأخرين» ”ہم خوب جانتے ہیں ان لوگوں کو جو آگے بڑھ جانے والے ہیں اور ان لوگوں کو بھی جو پیچھے ہٹ جانے والے ہیں“ ( الحجر: ۲۴ ) ، نازل فرمائی۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: جعفر بن سلیمان نے یہ حدیث عمرو بن مالک سے اور عمروبن مالک نے ابوالجوزاء سے اسی طرح روایت کی ہے، اور اس میں «عن ابن عباس» کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے۔ اور اس میں اس بات کا زیادہ امکان ہے کہ یہ نوح کی حدیث سے زیادہ صحیح و درست ہو۔

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: There are seven gates of Jahannam: Among them a gate for whoever carries a sword against my Ummah. Or he said: Against the Ummah of Muhammad.

Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Beware of the believer's intuition, for indeed he sees with Allah's Light. Then he recited: Surely in this are signs for those who see (15:75).

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: I heard 'Umar bin Al-Khattab saying: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Four before Zuhr, after the zenith, are reckoned with their like from Salat As-Sahr (meaning the reward is like that of the two Sunan and obligatory Rak'ah of Fajr). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: There is nothing but that it glorifies Allah at that hour. Then he recited the Ayah: Their shadows shift from right to left, prostrating to Allah while they are humble (16:48).
