حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةً لَمْ يَقْرَأْ فِيهَا بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ هِيَ خِدَاجٌ غَيْرُ تَمَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنِّي أَحْيَانًا أَكُونُ وَرَاءَ الْإِمَامِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا ابْنَ الْفَارِسِيِّ فَاقْرَأْهَا فِي نَفْسِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى:‏‏‏‏ قَسَمْتُ الصَّلَاةَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِي نِصْفَيْنِ فَنِصْفُهَا لِي وَنِصْفُهَا لِعَبْدِي وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقْرَأُ الْعَبْدُ فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ سورة الفاتحة آية 2، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى:‏‏‏‏ حَمِدَنِي عَبْدِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ سورة الفاتحة آية 3 فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ:‏‏‏‏ أَثْنَى عَلَيَّ عَبْدِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ سورة الفاتحة آية 4، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَجَّدَنِي عَبْدِي وَهَذَا لِي وَبَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِي إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ سورة الفاتحة آية 5 وَآخِرُ السُّورَةِ لِعَبْدِي وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ‏‏‏‏ 6 ‏‏‏‏ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا الضَّالِّينَ ‏‏‏‏ 7 ‏‏‏‏ سورة الفاتحة آية 6-7 ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَى شُعْبَةُ، وَإِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے کوئی نماز پڑھی اور اس میں سورۃ فاتحہ نہ پڑھی تو وہ نماز ناقص ہے، وہ نماز ناقص ہے، نامکمل ہے ۱؎ عبدالرحمٰن کہتے ہیں: میں نے کہا: ابوہریرہ! میں کبھی امام کے پیچھے ہوتا ہوں؟ انہوں نے کہا: فارسی لڑکے! اسے اپنے جی میں ( دل ہی دل میں ) پڑھ لیا کرو ۲؎ کیونکہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے: میں نے نماز ۳؎ اپنے اور بندے کے درمیان دو حصوں میں بانٹ دی ہے۔ آدھی نماز میرے لیے ہے اور آدھی میرے بندے کے لیے، اور میرے بندے کے لیے وہ ہے جو مانگے۔ میرا بندہ پڑھتا ہے: «الحمد لله رب العالمين» تو اللہ کہتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری حمد یعنی تعریف کی۔ بندہ کہتا ہے: «الرحمن الرحيم» تو اللہ کہتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری ثنا کی، بندہ «مالك يوم الدين» کہتا ہے تو اللہ کہتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری عظمت اور بزرگی بیان کی اور عظمت اور بزرگی صرف میرے لیے ہے، اور میرے اور میرے بندے کے درمیان «إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين» سے لے کر سورۃ کی آخری آیات تک ہیں، اور بندے کے لیے وہ سب کچھ ہے جو وہ مانگے۔ بندہ کہتا ہے «اهدنا الصراط المستقيم صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين» ”ہمیں سیدھی اور سچی راہ دکھا، ان لوگوں کی راہ جن پر تو نے انعام کیا ان کی نہیں جن پر غضب کیا گیا اور نہ گمراہوں کی“ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- شعبہ، اسماعیل بن جعفر اور کئی دوسرے رواۃ نے ایسی ہی حدیث علاء بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، علاء نے اپنے باپ سے اور ان کے باپ نے ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی ہے۔

Narrated 'Adiyy bin Hatim: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The Jews are those who Allah is wrath with, and the Christians have strayed.

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed Allah Most High created Adam from a handful that He took from all of the earth. So the children of Adam come in according with the earth, some of them come red, and white and black, and between that, and the thin, the thick, the filthy, and the clean.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, regarding Allah's saying: Enter the gate in prostration (2:58): They entered dragging their behinds meaning they distorted it, and with this chain, from the Prophet (ﷺ): But those who did wrong changed the word from that which had been told to them for another (2:59) - They said: Habbah (a seed) in Sha'irah (in barely).

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amir bin Rabi'ah: from his father who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on a journey on a very dark night and we did not know where the Qiblah was. So each man among us prayed in his own direction. In the morning when we mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), then the following was revealed: So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah. (2:115)

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would perform voluntary Salat upon his mount facing whichever direction he was headed, while he was coming from Makkah to Al-Madinah. Then Ibn 'Umar recited: To Allah belong both the east and the west. (2:115) And Ibn 'Umar said: It was about this that the Ayah was revealed.

Narrated Anas: that 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said: O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! I wish that we could perform Salat behind the Maqam: So the following was revealed: And take you the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of Salat. (2:125).
