Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It is better that one of you fill his insides with puss than to fill it with poetry.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَاصٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کسی شخص کے پیٹ کا بیماری کے سبب مواد سے بھر جانا بہتر ہے اس سے کہ وہ شعر سے بھرا ہو“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed Allah detests the excessive among men, who slaps his tongue around like the cow slaps his tongue.

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Cover the vessels, tie the water-skins, close the doors, extinguish the torches, for indeed the vermin may drag away the wick, causing a fire for the inhabitants of the house.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When you travel through fertile land, then give the camels their fill of the land, and when you travel through drought, then hasten while they are fresh, and when you camp late, then stay away from the road, for indeed it is the route of the beasts and the abode of poisonous vermin in the night.
