Translation

Arabic, english and urdu

Anas bin Malik narrated that a man among his companions was dying so he said- meaning a man said to him: Glad tidings of Paradise. To which the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: You do not know. Perhaps he spoke of what did not concern him or he was greedy with that which would not decrease him.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ يَعْنِي رَجُلًا:‏‏‏‏ أَبْشِرْ بِالْجَنَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَوَلَا تَدْرِي فَلَعَلَّهُ تَكَلَّمَ فِيمَا لَا يَعْنِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ بَخِلَ بِمَا لَا يَنْقُصُهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ.

انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک صحابی کی وفات ہو گئی، ایک آدمی نے کہا: تجھے جنت کی بشارت ہو، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”شاید تمہیں نہیں معلوم کہ اس نے کوئی ایسی بات کہی ہو جو بےفائدہ ہو، یا ایسی چیز کے ساتھ بخل سے کام لیا ہو جس کے خرچ کرنے سے اس کا کچھ نقصان نہ ہوتا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث غریب ہے۔

Muhammed bin 'Amr narrated from his father, from his grandfather who said: I heard Bilal bin Al-Harith Al Muzani, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) saying: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) saying: Indeed one of you says a statement pleasing to Allah, not realizing that you have achieved what you have achieved. Then for it, Allah writes for him His pleasure until the Day of Meeting Him. And one of you says a statement angering Allah, not realizing that you have achieved what you have achieved. Then for it, Allah writes for him His anger until the Day of Meeting with Him.

Sahl bin Sa'd narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: If the world to Allah was equal to a mosquito's wing, then He would not allow the disbeliever to have a sip of water from it.

Al-Mustawrid bin Shaddad said: I was with the caravan of those who stopped with the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) at a dead lamb. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Do you think that this was insignificant to its owners when they threw it away?' They said:'Yes! It is because of its insignificance that they threw it away O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'The world is more insignificant to Allah than this to its owners.'

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: Lo! Indeed the world is cursed. What is in it is cursed, except for remembrance of Allah, what is conducive to that, the knowledgeable person and the learning person.
