Abu Wa'il narrated from Hudhaifah that 'Umar said: Which of you remembers what the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said about the Fitnah? So Hudhaifah said: I do. Hudhaifah said: A man's Fitnah is in his family, his wealth, his children, and his neighbors. It is atoned for by the Salat, fasting, charity, and by commanding good and forbidding evil. 'Umar said: I am not asking you about this. Rather, about the Fitnah that spreads like the waves of the sea. He said: O Commander of the Believers! Between you and it is a closed door. 'Umar said: Will it be opened or broken? He said: It will be broken. He said: Then it will never be closed until the Day of Judgement.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، وَحَمَّادٍ، وَعَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ، سمعوا أبا وائل، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ أَيُّكُمْ يَحْفَظُ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ:‏‏‏‏ فِتْنَةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي أَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَجَارِهِ يُكَفِّرُهَا الصَّلَاةُ وَالصَّوْمُ وَالصَّدَقَةُ وَالْأَمْرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْيُ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ لَسْتُ عَنْ هَذَا أَسْأَلُكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنْ عَنِ الْفِتْنَةِ الَّتِي تَمُوجُ كَمَوْجِ الْبَحْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهَا بَابًا مُغْلَقًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ أَيُفْتَحُ أَمْ يُكْسَرُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَلْ يُكْسَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذًا لَا يُغْلَقُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو وَائِلٍ فِي حَدِيثِ حَمَّادٍ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ لِمَسْرُوقٍ:‏‏‏‏ سَلْ حُذَيْفَةَ عَنِ الْبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَأَلَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ.

حذیفہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ عمر رضی الله عنہ نے پوچھا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فتنہ کے بارے میں جو فرمایا ہے اسے کس نے یاد رکھا ہے؟ حذیفہ رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: میں نے یاد رکھا ہے، حذیفہ رضی الله عنہ نے بیان کیا: ”آدمی کے لیے جو فتنہ اس کے اہل، مال، اولاد اور پڑوسی کے سلسلے میں ہو گا اسے نماز، روزہ، زکاۃ، امربالمعروف اور نہی عن المنکر مٹا دیتے ہیں“ ۱؎، عمر رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: میں تم سے اس کے بارے میں نہیں پوچھ رہا ہوں، بلکہ اس فتنہ کے بارے میں پوچھ رہا ہوں جو سمندر کی موجوں کی طرح موجیں مارے گا، انہوں نے کہا: امیر المؤمنین! آپ کے اور اس فتنے کے درمیان ایک بند دروازہ ہے، عمر نے پوچھا: کیا وہ دروازہ کھولا جائے گا یا توڑ دیا جائے گا؟ انہوں نے کہا: توڑ دیا جائے گا، عمر رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: تب تو قیامت تک بند نہیں ہو گا۔ حماد کی روایت میں ہے کہ ابووائل شقیق بن سلمہ نے کہا: میں نے مسروق سے کہا کہ حذیفہ سے اس دروازہ کے بارے میں پوچھو انہوں نے پوچھا تو کہا: وہ دروازہ عمر ہیں ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

It was narrated from Ka'b bin 'Ujrah who said: The Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) came out to us, we were made up of nine; five and four. The first of the numbers for the Arabs, and the latter for the non-Arabs. He said: 'Listen, have you heard that after me there will leaders, whoever enters upon them and condones to their lies, and supports them in their oppression, then he is not from me and I am not from him, and he shall not drink with me from the Hawd. And whoever does not enter upon them, nor help them in their oppression, nor condones to their lies, then he is from me, and I am from him, and he shall drink with me at the Hawd.'

Abu Bakrah said: Allah restrained me with something that I heard from the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w). When Kisra was destroyed, he said: 'Who did they have to succeed him?' They said: 'His daughter.' So the Prophet(s.a.w) said: 'A people will never succeed who give their leadership to a woman.' He said: So when 'Aishah arrived - meaning in Al-Basrah - I remembered the saying of Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so Allah restrained me by it. Abu Eisa said: This Hadith is [Hasan] Sahih.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) came across some people who were sitting, so he said: 'Shall I not inform you of the best of you from your worst?' He said: They became silent, so he said that three times, then a man said: 'Of course, O Messenger of Allah! Inform us of the best among us from our worst.' He said: 'The best of you is the one whose goodness is hoped for, and people are safe from his evil. And the worst of you is he whose goodness is not hoped for, and people are not safe from his evil.'

Umar bin Al-Khattab narrated that the Prophet(s.a.w) said: Shall I not inform you of the best of your leaders and the worst of them: The best of them are those whom you love and they love you, you supplicate for them, and they supplicate for you. And the evilest of your leaders are those who hate you, and you hate them, and they curse you and you curse them.
