Jabir bin Samurah narrated: The Mu'adh-dhin of Allah's Messenger would wait and he would not call the Iqamah until he saw the Allah's Messenger had come out, he would call the Iqamah when he saw him.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنِي سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ، يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ مُؤَذِّنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُمْهِلُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَا يُقِيمُ حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ خَرَجَ أَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ حِينَ يَرَاهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ هُوَ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَدِيثُ إِسْرَائِيلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سِمَاكٍ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَكَذَا قَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنَ أَمْلَكُ بِالْأَذَانِ وَالْإِمَامُ أَمْلَكُ بِالْإِقَامَةِ.

جابر بن سمرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وسلم کا مؤذن دیر کرتا اور اقامت نہیں کہتا تھا یہاں تک کہ جب وہ رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وسلم کو دیکھ لیتا کہ آپ نکل چکے ہیں تب وہ اقامت کہتا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- جابر بن سمرہ رضی الله عنہ والی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اور ہم اسرائیل کی حدیث کو جسے انہوں نے سماک سے روایت کی ہے، صرف اسی سند سے جانتے ہیں، ۳- اسی طرح بعض اہل علم نے کہا ہے کہ مؤذن کو اذان کا زیادہ اختیار ہے ۱؎ اور امام کو اقامت کا زیادہ اختیار ہے ۲؎۔

Salim narrated from his father (Ibn Umar) that : the Prophet said: Indeed Bilal calls the Adhan in the night, so eat and drink until you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum.

Abu Ash-Sha'tha said: A man exited the Masjid after the Adhan for Asr had been called. So Abu Hurairah said: 'As for this person, he has indeed disobeyed Abul Qasim.

Malik bin Al-Huwairih said: A cousin of mine and I arrived as guests of Allah's Messenger. He said to us: 'When you travel then call the Adhan and Iqamah and let the eldest of you lead the prayer.'

Ibn Abbas narrated: The Prophet said: 'Whoever calls the Adhan for seven years, seeking reward for it, salvation from the Fire is written for him.'

Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: The Imam is answerable and the Mu'adh-dhin is entrusted. O Allah! Guide the Imams and pardon the Mu'adh-dhins.
