Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrated from his father who said: The messenger of Allah said: 'Shall I not tell you of the biggest of the major sins?' they said : 'Of course! O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'To join partners with Allah, and disobeying one's parents.' He said : He sat up, and he had been reclining. He said: 'And false testimony, or false speech.' And the Messenger of Allah would not stop saying it until we said (to ourselves): 'I wish that he would stop.'
حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَجَلَسَ وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ قَوْلُ الزُّورِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمَا زَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى قُلْنَا لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو بَكْرَةَ اسْمُهُ نُفَيْعُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ.
ابوبکرہ نفیع بن حارث رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا میں تم لوگوں کو سب سے بڑے کبیرہ گناہ کے بارے میں نہ بتا دوں؟ صحابہ نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! کیوں نہیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ کے ساتھ شرک کرنا اور ماں باپ کی نافرمانی کرنا“، راوی کہتے ہیں: آپ اٹھ بیٹھے حالانکہ آپ ٹیک لگائے ہوئے تھے، پھر فرمایا: ”اور جھوٹی گواہی دینا“، یا جھوٹی بات کہنا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم باربار اسے دہراتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ہم نے کہا: ”کاش آپ خاموش ہو جاتے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابو سعید خدری رضی الله عنہ سے بھی روایت ہے۔

Abdullah bin 'Amr narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: It is among the greatest of sins that a man should curse his parents. They said: O Messenger of Allah! Does a man curse his parents? He said: Yes. He verbally abuses the father of a man, who in turn, verbally abuses his father, and he (retaliates and) curses his mother , so he curses his mother.

Abu Salamah said: Abu[Ar-Raddad] Al-Laithi complained(of an illness). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf visited him. He said: 'The best of you, and the most apt to maintain good relations, as far as I know, is Abu Muhammad('Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf' said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah saying : Allah, Most Blessed and Most High, said: 'I am Allah, and I am Ar-Rahman. I created the Rahim(womb), and named it after My Name. So whoever keeps good relations with it, I keep good relation with him, and whoever severs it, I am finished with him.'
