Narrated Abu Salih, the Freed slave of Uthman : I heard Uthman while on the Minbar saying: 'I did not inform you about a Hadith I had heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), out of dismay that you might part from me. Then it occurred to me that I should narrate to you so that one may choose from these matters accordingly. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: (Ribat) Guarding the frontier for a day in Allah's cause is beter in status than thousand days doing other than that.' [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih Gharib. Muhammad bin Ism'ail said: Abu Salih, the freed slave of 'Uthman's name is Burkan.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَقِيلٍ زُهْرَةُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي كَتَمْتُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَرَاهِيَةَ تَفَرُّقِكُمْ عَنِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ بَدَا لِي أَنْ أُحَدِّثَكُمُوهُ لِيَخْتَارَ امْرُؤٌ لِنَفْسِهِ مَا بَدَا لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ رِبَاطُ يَوْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ يَوْمٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَنَازِلِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل:‏‏‏‏ أَبُو صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ تُرْكَانُ.

ابوصالح مولیٰ عثمان کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے منبر پر عثمان رضی الله عنہ کو کہتے سنا: میں نے تم لوگوں سے ایک حدیث چھپا لی تھی جسے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے اس ڈر کی وجہ سے کہ تم مجھ سے جدا ہو جاؤ گے ۱؎ پھر میری سمجھ میں آیا کہ میں تم لوگوں سے اسے بیان کر دوں تاکہ ہر آدمی اپنے لیے وہی چیز اختیار کرے جو اس کی سمجھ میں آئے، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: ”اللہ کی راہ میں ایک دن سرحد کی پاسبانی کرنا دوسری جگہوں کے ایک ہزار دن کی پاسبانی سے بہتر ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The martyr does not sense the touch of death except as one of you senses the touch of a (bug) bite. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib Sahih.

Narrated Abu Umamah: That the Prophet (ﷺ) said: There is nothing more beloved to Allah than two drops and two traces: A teardrop shed out of fear of Allah, and a drop of blood shed in Allah's cause. As for the two traces: A trace resulting in Allah's cause, and and a trace resulting from one of the duties that Allah made obligatory. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib.

Narrated Al-Bara' bin 'Azib: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Bring me a shoulder blade or tablet. Then he wrote: Not equal are those of believers who sit. 'Amr bin Umm Maktum who was behind him said: Is there an exemption for me? So the following was revealed: Except those who are disabled. There are narrations on this topic from Ibn 'Abbas, Jabir and Zaid bin Thabit. This Hadith is Hasan Sahih and it is a Hadith that is Gharib from the narration of Sulaiman At-Taimi from Abu Ishaq. And Shu'bah and Ath-Thawri reported this Hadith from Abu Ishaq.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: A man came to Prophet (ﷺ) seeking permission to go for Jihad. So he said: 'Do you have parents (living)? ' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then it is for them that you should perform Jihad.' [Abu 'Eisa said:] There is something on this topic from Ibn 'Abbas. This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. (One of the narrators) Abul-Abbas is the blind (Al-A'ma) poet (Ash-Sha'ir), from Makkah, and his name is As-Sa'ab bin Farrukh.

Narrated Al-Hajjaj bin Muhammad: That Ibn Juraij commented on Allah's saying: Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you. He said: Abdullah bin Hudhafah bin Qais bin 'Adi As-Sahmi was sent by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) over a military expedition. I was informed of that by Ya'la bin Muslim, from Sa'eed bin Jubair, from Ibn 'Abbas. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih Gharib. We do not know if it except as a narration of Ibn Juraij.
