Narrated Abu Burdah bun Niyar: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: No one is to be lashed more than ten lashes except for a legal punishment among Allah's punishments.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبيبٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ نِيَارٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يُجْلَدُ فَوْقَ عَشْرِ جَلَدَاتٍ،‏‏‏‏ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ،‏‏‏‏ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَدِ اخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ فِي التَّعْزِيرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَحْسَنُ شَيْءٍ رُوِيَ فِي التَّعْزِيرِ،‏‏‏‏ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَخْطَأَ فِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ وَهُوَ خَطَأٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَالصَّحِيحُ حَدِيثُ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا هُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ نِيَارٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
ابوبردہ بن نیار رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرمایا: ”دس سے زیادہ کسی کو کوڑے نہ لگائے جائیں ۱؎ سوائے اس کے کہ اللہ کی حدود میں سے کوئی حد جاری کرنا ہو“ ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف بکیر بن اشج کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں۔ ۲-تعزیر کے سلسلے میں اہل علم کا اختلاف ہے، تعزیر کے باب میں یہ حدیث سب سے اچھی ہے، ۳- اس حدیث کو ابن لہیعہ نے بکیر سے روایت کیا ہے، لیکن ان سے اس سند میں غلطی ہوئی ہے، انہوں نے سند اس طرح بیان کی ہے: «عن عبدالرحمٰن بن جابر بن عبد الله عن أبيه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» حالانکہ یہ غلط ہے، صحیح لیث بن سعد کی حدیث ہے، اس کی سند اس طرح ہے: «عبدالرحمٰن بن جابر بن عبد الله عن أبي بردة بن نيار عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» ۔

Narrated Abu Tha'labah Al-Khushani: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! We are a people who hunt.' He said: 'If you send your dog and you mentioned the Name of Allah upon it, and he catches something for you, then eat it.' I said: 'Even if he kills it?' He said: 'Even if he kills it.' I said: 'We are a people who shoot (at game).' He said: 'What you catch with your bow, then eat it.' He said: Then I said:'Indeed we are a people who travel. We come across Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians, and we do not find vessels other than theirs.' He said: 'If you do not find other than them, then wash them with water, then eat and drink from it.'

Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! We send our trained dogs to catch game for us.' He said: 'Eat what it catches for you.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, and if they kill it?' He said: 'Even if they kill it, as long as they are not accompanied by some other dogs besides them.' He said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! We hunt with the Mir'ad.' He said: 'Eat of the game what the Mir'ad pierces, but whatever is struck by its broad side, then do not eat it.'

Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about hunting, so he said: 'Mention Allah's Name when you shoot your arrow. Then, if you find it dead, eat from it, unless you found that it has fallen in (some body of) water. Then do not eat it, for you do not know if the water killed it, or your arrow.'
