Abu Hurairah narraed that: The Messenger of Allah said: Allah has permitted my Ummah what occurs in their mines, as long as it is not spoken or acted upon.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ تَجَاوَزَ اللَّهُ لِأُمَّتِي مَا حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا لَمْ تَكَلَّمْ بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ تَعْمَلْ بِهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ نَفْسَهُ بِالطَّلَاقِ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ حَتَّى يَتَكَلَّمَ بِهِ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ نے میری امت کے خیالات کو جو دل میں آتے ہیں معاف فرما دیا ہے جب تک کہ وہ انہیں زبان سے ادا نہ کرے، یا ان پر عمل نہ کرے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے کہ آدمی جب اپنے دل میں طلاق کا خیال کر لے تو کچھ نہیں ہو گا، جب تک کہ وہ منہ سے نہ کہے۔
